Is it moving, I mean in our direction? Or is it just sitting there moving along with the Solar System? Or even is our SS just passing through it? Or maybe all the above?
I don't think we can understand our SS as independent of the rest of the Galaxy, only as a first approximation.
I believe the discovery challenges the way we describe the structure of the SS.
We're connected with the Milk Way in a more profound manner than we thought.

Unfortunately I agree, it takes more than a discovery like this to change a paradigm, but the fact that so many (as expressed in the comments of this thread) are already conscious of the problems of the present paradigm is a start.

I believe the new solar grand minimum (that is happening now) will bring the end of the present MHD/gravitational model of the Universe. I even like "dark matter" because it has an intrinsically EM-component, related with the EM-weak field. I believe it will survive the change.

If we cannot explain/understand our own Sun how can we possibly explain the rest of the Universe?
The Sun will bring us some important teachings and some humbleness (I hope) very soon, along with the end of the MHD/gravitational primacy.
