Your welcome Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18054389 Or OP could come out and say what he has to say, instead of playing games with such "important information." "I'm not gonna tell you what it is, you have to look for yourself and find the answers. Ooooo, ain't it mysterious? Did I suck you in? Maybe I should belittle those who believe in just saying whatever the fuck you have to say if it's so important, instead of making people jump through hoops. Gotta let people feel like they're 'digging for the truth' you know? Makes 'em feel special." Last Edited by XMonkey on 12/04/2012 12:07 PM Banana! |

Quoting: Morpheus I don't have time to read it right now but scanned through it quickly. In summary....the document shows that different government organizations are concerned about solar storms and the risk to the national power grid. Thanks OP Exactly, thanks OP. Haters suck |

Quoting: --Voltaic-- It can take 12-18 months to replace the transformer. We anticipate catastrophic failure at some pint in time. Since a Carrington type event is inevitable. Why not replace the fucking things BEFORE they blow. Shit, we knew this years ahead of time. We should have replacements for the replacements by now. They have been replaced, this is a decoy, or an excuse.. They started replaced the grids or rewiring them about 10 years or so ago.. but they also hooked them all up to one big mother board..so to speak, before they were hooked up to local places.. I don't know how to explain it all. But in other words one flip of a switch takes out say the whole eastern usa. Brother-in-law was involved in a lot of it, he wrote the programs, and worked on site setting the programs up..In the big city area's, Eastern US, and out in Cali down the west coast. Any chance you could your brother in law to come here and write a post about what he knows? |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21651258 12/04/2012 02:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So what have they done to harden the nuclear plants or will we swim in radioactive soup? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26354484 The beginning of the .pdf starts with a letter from a private organization. Their site is scant but it does mention concern about nuclear plants: Initiatives We are currently working on three intiatives consistent with the Foundation's mission: Protection of the commercial electric grid from long-term outage resulting from solar storms Risk-informed prioritization of electric grid relilability standards "Walkaway-safe" enhancements to spent fuel pools at nuclear power plants, including a Petition for Rulemaking submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission [link to www.resilientsocieties.org] Petitioner The NRC received a petition for rulemaking on March 14, 2011 (PRM-50-96). The petition was submitted by Mr. Thomas Popik on behalf of the Foundation for Resilient Societies (the Foundation). The petition states that the Foundation is an association within the U.S. with an interest in citizens' health and safety, and an interest [in ensuring] that large U.S. land areas do not become contaminated with nuclear radiation and, therefore, uninhabitable for hundreds of years. The NRC was unable to confirm the existence of the Foundation. [1] The NRC requires in 10 CFR 2.802(c)(2) that each petition for rulemaking “[s]tate clearly and concisely petitioner's grounds for an interest in the action requested.” The NRC has consistently interpreted this as requiring that the petitioner accurately identify itself, in part so that the NRC is able to evaluate the accuracy and weight to be given to any representations made by the petitioner in its petition. In light of the NRC's inability to confirm the Foundation as an actual organization, the NRC is treating Mr. Popik as the petitioner. [2] The petitioner is requesting that the NRC amend its regulations in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 50 to address concerns about the effects of long-term commercial grid outage on spent fuel pool cooling and water makeup. The petitioner states that “in the event of a long-term loss of commercial grid power extending beyond a month, it is likely that water in spent fuel pools would heat up and boil off, fuel rods would become uncovered by water, zirconium cladding would catch fire, and large amounts of dangerous radionuclides would be released into the atmosphere.” more - [link to www.federalregister.gov (secure)] |

And he never claimed that's what it was all for, But what else could it be? What reason would there be for them to do these things? He had some company, he's an electrical engineer, him and his partner had a contracts with power company's for several years, they wrote programs to hook or wire in all the hub stations together, he would also go where ever they were converting them, to oversee or be on site while they transferred everything over to the master board.. Wasn't anything sinister about it.. I'm sure he never gave any thought what may have been going on. When the contract was done he started working for some electric company. He changed jobs last year or so, now he's building or doing something with 'satellites.' Figure he's mass producing drones.. ;).. these are only my speculations here. All i know was what he said he was doing at the time, and later heard about some switch they could flip to shut down power over large areas, not just one city at a time. |
