"American Idol" will return for another season pretty soon. Next January (if the world doesn't end), it will replace that other evil singing competition that is currently corrupting the Wednesday and Thursday prime-time Fox TV schedule ("X Factor").
Does the word "idolatry" pop into anyone else' head when you hear the title "American Idol"? I've been thinking this ever since way back when the show first aired years ago. Singers are just one example of the many false gods Americans worship, and "American Idol" doesn't even try to hide it. It just flaunts sin without any apologies.
Coincidentally, one of the judges this season will be Nicki Minaj, whose music embodies lust, materialism, and anger. Satan should be overjoyed by the extra publicity she'll get as a result of being on the show.
