Why do people driving next to me look so lifeless?
Are we in a big fucking video game? At a stoplight, I glance to the right and see an old mexican man driving, hunched over the wheel, hands at 10 and 2, mouth hanging open, head fixed forward.

I look to the left and see a woman with a scarf, 6 empty spaces from the car in front of her. WTF, pull up, bitch!

The light changes, I look over at other drivers. All the same open mouth, slack-jawed, lifeless postures.

Wait, there's a stereotypical businessman in a black Mercedes, window down, left hand holding a folded Wallstreet Journal against the steering wheel. Right hand holding a large Starbucks cup.

And there's an old pale blue rust-bucket of a pickup truck ahead. I already know. Yep. Straw hat farmer wearing suspenders.

Actually, in today's environment this is a good safety practice. Unfortunately, even though I know it myself, I forget and pull up to the bumper too.

Maybe it's because my area is still relatively safe, but that is changing and I should start remembering to leave the space.

Obviously it depends on the roadway and how surrounded you are at the light. But by leaving a car length space between you and the car in front of you, you won't be trapped and might have a means of exit should something happen around you - like an attempted carjacking.

Yes, in her case she probably was a zombie. But in today's world, leaving a way to quickly exit is a good thing.

If I pulled up in your video game you'd see a silver G500 with a dashing long hair stud at the wheel and a cast of blond super models riding bitch. You'd chuckle to your self as you notice one of the girls' heads bobbing up and down on my lap.

Most are mindless drones that only know and understand one way of life. Not having a CLUE about why they actually do what they do, on a daily basis. Slaves playing their part without knowing or caring that humans are not supposed to live that way.

ahhahahaha my pet peeve. drivers. everyone drives like frightened little children.

driving 20 miles under the speed limit. not making right turns, waiting for it to turn green. no concept of other people on the road. stopping 30 ft behind other cars for no reason. staring at me in window like some invasion of the body snatchers movie, they literally look like Agent Smith took over their body and they make weird faces for no reason.

yes, this is a more and more artificial construct. it is no longer even close to a "real" world. At one time early in my life, it wasn't completely apparent, but now the transition is finalizing. most people are just programmed lunatics with absolutely no connection to themselves or anything beyond their tv brainwashing.

Stimulus/response is a lower conscious operating level that humans sometimes are in. Same as herd mentality.

Zombies, that's the word I'd use to describe people driving AND pedestrians too.

They walk facing away from traffic in their lane, they step in front of moving cars to cross the street.

My thoughts exactly. What exactly separates you from them OP that you talk as if you're so far above them? What do they see when they pull up next to you and look in your direction? Do you think you look that much more unique to them when they pull up next to you at the light?

What do you think other people should look like while they're driving around? If they're paying attention to the road, you call them slack jawed zombies. You want them to make faces at you? Then you'd call them crazy. What if they're talking to other people? Then you'd complain because they're not paying attention or probably "prattling on about stupid materialistic things" or something.

And why are you worried about how they're dressed? You think it's weird that there's a guy in a pickup wearing a straw hat. What would you prefer to see? A guy in a Lexus wearing a straw hat, a business suit, and a pair of cowboy boots? With a gun rack on the back of the Lexus? Then you'd complain because he looks stupid, simply because he doesn't clearly conform to one of the stereotypes you just bashed.

Honestly, I have to wonder what's going on with you that you're so worried about how other drivers look.
