We reached a tipping point several years ago where the "takers" started to outnumber the "producers". The Democrats have seized this reality and have now pushed the envelope to the point that never again will a candidate be elected POTUS that does not advocate the expansion of the nanny state. The Republicans have now been effectively neutered. What very little they had to offer in terms of turning things around is now gone.

Fiscal responsibility? Hogwash!! Print the fucking money and hand it over! This is the new normal, folks. You want an example of what is to come, look to California. The people there have been electing big government liberals for years and now it has gotten to the point where, unless you go along with every government freebie under the sun, you don't stand a chance at even sniffing public office. The state WILL go bankrupt. It's only a matter of time. And when they do the "new federal empire" will be standing there drooling, like lion over a fresh wildebeast, to eagerly gobble them up.

And so... this will be the way of it. First California, then with other "progressive" states soon to follow. It will start to resemble a row of dominoes. Sure, there will be a few holdouts like Alaska or maybe the Dakotas, but they won't last. There isn't enough resistance there to hold back the tide.
