You are looking at an image taken by one of the cameras on the satellite. The disc in the middle blocs out the sun. What you see is the immediate space around the sun. The sun is about the size of the whit circle on the dick. The plume at the top of the disc is an explosive event on the sun happening now Please note the SOHO scope is a joint venture between NASA and ESA... it is NOT NASA's telescope. |
