| ~MKultra~ (OP) User ID: 17750208 12/04/2012 10:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | most of the public traffic that come after reading forum posts and the odd article online stop at the mirror or "the hidden wiki" and are content with what they find there. if you have your own .onion address outside traffic is still 0 as far as I have encountered. if you have a .onion address you would want to take step to ensure your address did not fall in to wrong hands and i personally normally wait for a potential member to have a .onion email address on my server before giving the address of our main site. Now if someone is after you there is no protection as there is always a way, but with the right steps and the use of TOR I doubt that would even be an issue for the normal TOR user. most breaches of privacy come from human error and stupidity and although nothing is 100% but i still trust TOR to protect my normal everyday online privacy. |

I say stay out of onion land unless you know what you are doing...I am simply promoting TOR as an everyday privacy protector...those who get more involved with TOR then simply using it to browse ebay anonymously can either post here or find their own ways of ensuring their privacy in onionland. If anyone every goes there and hire a hitman or tries any other illegal activity they have what ever they get coming as obviously the main gateway is watched and controlled. controlling your own server in onionland gives you more protection but there are still step you would want to take to increase your security...but still it's better then nothing and no other offers anything even remotely as close to privacy as TOR aside from creating your own network that would raise flags right away. |
