Have you ever seen The Hat Man?
At the time I saw this shadow person I had no idea such a thing existed. It was in the middle of the night and I was laying asleep in my bed when I heard something move as if something were putting on a piece of clothing and zipping it up. I looked up to see a man in a trench coat with a wide brimmed hat. He seemed to be watching me for some reason and I tried really hard to see his face but couldn't. Wanting a better look at him I got up to on my knees on my bed so I could reach the light switch. I turned around and saw the great big bluish white glowing pole filled with clown faces of all types of emotions rotating. My body froze up and went into a cold sweat as my heart began to beat so fast it started to hurt. My hands shook violently as I struggled and turned on the light watching as it vanished when the light came on. Someone told me that it didn't really vanish, I just wasn't able to see it once I turned the light on. The shadow man I saw was known as "The Hat Man" and now I know I'm not crazy since now I know that other people have seen him.

My mom described a man like that when she was a kid. She said she and some other kids were on their front porch talking and some dark looking figure in a hat began walking up the driveway toward them. When he got up to them, he just disappeared. This happened in broad daylight.

Yep, the whole group. I've never seen anything like it personally, so it's just second hand information.

My mom also claimed to see the Jersey Devil, if you've ever heard of that. She saw this little devil-like creature in the back yard, standing next to a hole in the ground that hadn't been there before. She said it took off running across the rooftops. When she went to go get somebody to show them the hole, it was gone.

So either my mom had an overactive imagination, or she had some creepy paranormal experiences. It's strange though some of her experiences, like the Hat Man, coincide with experiences shared by other people.

Does anyone have a picture or a drawing of what this is supposed to look like?

I do believe some people see shadow people but just not sure what they are.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Yes, he came in my room to visit me in the middle of the night. He stood at the end of the bed and watched me. I was frozen from fear and just curled in a ball not breathing until he walked back out! I was only six or so and still vividly remember in my forties!

Blacker than pitch black, solid yet ethereal. Looking at it is like looking at a portal to an endless black hole. It's touch (it tried to strangle me once) is as cold as ice and it's presence brings feelings of dread.

Here's a sketch someone made of it - only the one I saw was without eyes, yet could see all the same.

A word of warning to you before opening it - the same person included a sketch of the Hat Man beside it on the same image. I got over my fear of both, so it doesn't bother me to look at them...you might not feel the same way, though.

Re: Have you ever seen The Hat Man?
As a child in Atlanta I woke because I thought I heard something. As I looked around the room I swear a man in a long coat and a hat peeled off the ceiling and walked out of my bedroom door into the common hallway.

I was around 5 years old and began screaming bloody murder, we lived in an apartment building where everyone shared a bathroom and common hall. My step Dad came running up the stairs, as I was screaming ,"a man was in my room."

When my step Dad entered my room carrying a baseball bat all he found was my sister and I in bed. He tried the door that led to the hall, which he found locked.

Bottom line I got my butt beat for waking up the house for NOTHING !! It wasn't my imagination, I swear till today it happened.

I still get goose bumps when I think about it.

Re: Have you ever seen The Hat Man?
Yes, i too have seen the hatman as a child at about the age of 5 or 6. When i was little and felt a bit ill i would go and sleep in my mums room for the night. This one night a dark shadow appeared on the wall exactly how you have described, solid black with a long coat and a tophat when i saw him the vision was accompanied by audatory chatter sounding very much like a party atmosphere the hatman was also talking but wasnt making any sense it was just strange chatter and then also a shadow woman appeared holding a wine glass and wearing a wide brimmed fedora hat with a feather on the top. I dony remember much after seeing these two entities because i became violently sick for about 4 days and couldnt keep down any food or water and had 2 be admitted to hospital where i was put on a drip. After 2 days i was discharged and had fully recovered from an unknown sickness.

Though i was very young this hatman is one of my clearest childhood memorirs and once i got older i asked my brother if he ever saw anything strange as a child in my mums room and to my horror he described the exact same two shadow beings. I know you are not lying op because i have seen him too and so has my brother.

I have done research on the internet and know that this shadow hat man is seen all over the world and mainly by children. I thank you for posting this thread and hope that more people come forward with thrir stories. It is unclear what and who this man is and why he appears to small children hopefully together with more people that come forward we can find some common ground between us all.

I swear on the bible that everything i have said thus far regarding this hatman is the entiire truth.

Re: Have you ever seen The Hat Man?
Florida 1991:

On a piece of property that backed up to a state park...it was a huge family farm that only had a bit of crops on it...the rest of the land was about 10,000 acres of free roaming cattle. This land was incredible...I've seen all kinds of wildlife there - big rattlesnakes, bald eagles, armadillos, hogs, fox, deer, and even a Florida panther next to a wild spring. Any way it was a real special place. I was with three people the day I first saw the Hat Man. If I remember correctly It was about 1 in the afternoon and very sunny this early spring day. Because it was private property we were always a little nervous hiking there...

My two friends split off from me when we got to some rows of pine and they started a going through the pine a couple rows a way from me. I remember looking at the ground and my feet going through tall grass a splintered sunlight washing over them. All of the sudden something made me look up quickly to the end of the pine row. Standing in front of me about 20 yards away was an all black figure with a wide brim hat and a flowing cape/cloak behind him....I say flowing because it moved with the wind.

This scared the hell out of me and I was paralyzed right where I stood. This seemed to go on forever but in reality was only a few seconds. I just couldn't believe my eyes...so I did what everyone does in that situation...I rubbed them and shook my head...looked at the ground and then back up again......only to see a big black cow standing there staring back at me.

The most interesting thing about all of this is I had never heard the term shadow person or hat man....it was only a few years later when I began staying up all nite listening to Art Bell that I became acquainted with the term(s).

I am just about certain it is some sort of archetypal manifestation......but what does it mean?

Sorry for the long post....and Thanks OP!!

Re: Have you ever seen The Hat Man?
I've only seen it once. I was walking out of my bathroom after showering and as soon as I entered the hallway I saw it standing at the end of the hallway right infront of my door. It was really tall. I'm talking 7ft plus tall. You couldn't see through it, it was like the blackest black possible. I didn't feel threatened in anyway, it was more of a "shit he (me) just seen me" kind of thing. The entity was only visible for about 2.5 secs maybe a bit less. Still, my heart jumped out of my chest and It startled me so bad I tried to yell shit but sound wouldn't come out I was so startled/scared at what I had just seen. I was 16 when this happend. Yes, I do/did smoke cannabis. But not at home when my parents were around. They were home, I damn sure wasn't high. 100% sober. Anyways, never saw it again. I didn't ever feel like it was going to hurt me, just seriously startled the shit out of me. I feel like it wasn't trying to get my attention but did on accident.

IMHO, The Shadow People are most probably Archonians which are described in the Nostican Texts.

They feed on fear, apparently and have been around for a very long, long time.

Most (99%) of the sightings of shadow men and woman involve them wearing a hat.
