Re: quiting my job of 23 years on 12/20/2012
thanks for all the support. 12 21 12 is rapidly approaching. Ive seen some of the craziest things with my co-workers this last week. They just have moments where they "wig out" and start cussing people, and others say that they are having domestic disputes over the littlest issues. Myself included. These will be trying times, but in the end the Love/level headed people will triumph after this great galactic alignment of winter solstice 2012.celebrate and watch the sky that night ,then lets get back to living the right way from then on. peace out ya'll.

Thats my only hope out all this marketing stunt

that people begin to realize how stupid modern life is
working 10 hours only to come back home and glue your ass to the couch to see some stupid show is not a nice way to spend your days in the sick planet we have

Unless you're financially stable, quitting your job before securing another one is the stupidest thing you could ever do.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1882217

Nope you are mistaken. Taking the leap and making big necessary changes is the smartest thing you could ever do.

You'd be surprised how opportunities open up when you move in the direction you want to go.

thanks for all the support.I hope nothing but the best for everybody and will do my best to live my life to the fullest and teach my boys that they need to focus on helping others who need help, then do what makes them happy. Then financial opportunities(jobs) will present themselves in the feilds they already enjoy.what a great day it will be when I can cook and clean for my lovely wife while she can focus on helping boys with school work without the stress of dishes laundry, dinner, etc. She has taken care of us all this way for years while I have been slaving for someone other than her. Wow, the Love and giving/spiritual part of the 12/21/12 shift is already happening in my life!

I have to compliment you on your commitment to one employer for 23 years, it takes discipline, and much tolerance to stay in a setting for 23 years. But then again some people fall into what they love, and time flies by. Just make sure you enjoy what ever it is you take on next, something that consumes a lot of thought, that works the imagination. Good luck!!

Nobody knows if anything will happen, most people we interact with will deny that 12/21/12 is anything to worry about, consciously, now sub-consciously, i think some of these outburst or 'wig-outs' is a sub-conscious reaction to the upcoming Mayan calender ends date., Like you said, 'eyes to the skies people'

Good luck! I disagree with this "don't leave until you have another job." Sometimes in life, you have to operate without a net. Just make sure you have a little savings. Ride the wave, something good always comes along if you have a good attitude.

Best to you!

this, i traded career for music 3 years ago, and the savings made me cross the gap untill i could handle it on my own, all the best to you man,and lots of luck sent your way

you will notice the differences within 5 to 10 days before
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29060049

We are 7 days before and, albeit the weather is odd (which is kind of usual for the last 5 years), no much differences anyway.

Re: quiting my job of 23 years on 12/20/2012
wish me luck. no I dont think the world will end,but I will make a drastic and long overdue career change. This just seemed like the perfect day to resign so I can say "see, the Mayans were right"my world did end! But a new one will begin after a short break to spend time with the family.Looking forward to the spiritual and maybe even some weather changes after the winter solstace here in north carolina. This has been an educational experience to say the least to learn of the Mayans mathmatical and celestial skills and calculations. I look forward to my last day of employment in 2 weeks. This has been my only job out of high school but its in manufacturing and i pushed myself 110 percent and am now 41 and the 12 hour rotating shift is too much. Thanks GLPers, I will be sitting in the front yard in the wee hours of 12/21/12 to toast the winter solstice/galactic alignment/ and a new start to my life. hope we can keep a positive thread going on post 12/21/12 events. Thanks again ya'll.
