Sometimes in life, you have to operate without a net. Just make sure you have a little savings. Ride the wave, something good always comes along if you have a good attitude. Best to you! |

I hate the focus on money for survival by 99 percenters. even my co workers and managers cant beleive that i have nothing lined up for employment.my first goal is to read the king james bible completely and quickly with some fasting, then fish with my sons during the spring and summer. even buying a new boat.after 23 .5 years im going to enjoy life and observe how others fare.I mean, lets grow something or barter or actually take time to help elderly people who need roof repairs etc. and dont charge them a dime. now thats living.and take time daily to trust God to lead you and provide for you if you do what he says. I can hardly wait. |

This just seemed like the perfect day to resign so I can say "see, the Mayans were right"my world did end! But a new one will begin after a short break to spend time with the family.Looking forward to the spiritual and maybe even some weather changes after the winter solstace here in north carolina. This has been an educational experience to say the least to learn of the Mayans mathmatical and celestial skills and calculations. I look forward to my last day of employment in 2 weeks. This has been my only job out of high school but its in manufacturing and i pushed myself 110 percent and am now 41 and the 12 hour rotating shift is too much. Thanks GLPers, I will be sitting in the front yard in the wee hours of 12/21/12 to toast the winter solstice/galactic alignment/ and a new start to my life. hope we can keep a positive thread going on post 12/21/12 events. Thanks again ya'll. Quoting: manwap1 Only you know your situation, but for what it is worth, I applaud you for being courageous enough to stand by your decision and wish you the very very best in whatever transpires. I've actually been there seen that and have the T shirt, so know both the pitfalls and rewards. As for the end of time according to the Mayans happening on that date. Nope! Can't see that as being the way things are going to pan out. However, I do note this distinct increase in man's inhumanity to man and feel that it needs to be put right. So, in the wee hours of 12/21/12, I will crack open a bottle and raise a toast to you and yours here in one of the 6 original Celtic lands. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 5073312 United States 12/05/2012 01:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good luck OP - Did this myself a few years ago - most people are too horribly in debt to pull it off, but I know they all secretly want to flip off their bosses and do the same thing. Unless you're financially stable, quitting your job before securing another one is the stupidest thing you could ever do. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1882217 It is the best thing you can do. It will turn you into an entrepreneur overnight. You really want to work on someone else's terms your whole life? |

Then financial opportunities(jobs) will present themselves in the feilds they already enjoy.what a great day it will be when I can cook and clean for my lovely wife while she can focus on helping boys with school work without the stress of dishes laundry, dinner, etc. She has taken care of us all this way for years while I have been slaving for someone other than her. Wow, the Love and giving/spiritual part of the 12/21/12 shift is already happening in my life! |
