You'll probably have much better luck looking in your local area. Look for pro-life organizations and low-income clinics (if you qualify) - often they offer baby stuff in exchange for parenting classes, attending appointments, and so on, or may be able to point you at other resources.

Check your local freecycle. Some are better than others.

Get involved with parenting groups or groups that include lots of parents, and you'll likely get hand-me-down offers.

Most importantly, re-examine what you *need*. Preparing for a baby does not have to be expensive. Trust me, I've done it twice while dead broke. You don't need half of what society and retailers say you do. Clothing (cheap at thrift stores and yard sales), somewhere safe to sleep (having the baby sleep in your bed is safe if you're not stupid about it), something to eat (breastfeeding is basically free, making baby food is easy, cheap, and healthy), diapers (cloth diapers can be cheap if you have your own washing machine, and if you have any sewing skills you can make them out of old t-shirts very easily), and a decent car seat.

EVERYTHING else is all about convenience and marketing. Don't let the marketing make you think that you need more than you really do.
