I love the Murano as jewelry, but I want to add my favorite glass sculptor is by far Chihuly. I have been lucky to see his work in New York, AZ, at Atlantis in the Bahamas and Vegas....

He is AMAZING.

Congratulations, you have some vintage pieces of the Murano's Heritage of glassmaking.

I bought Murano Glass in Venice When I was stationed at Aviano.

I got to watch them making it.

Nice.

Anyway be aware from counterfeit pieces (usually made in China), foe example million of it was put in the market and tourists were scummed:

years ago, I went to Venice with my parents, and we went to watch the murano glass being blown

I have a few pieces, but nothing as gorgeous as in the videos you posted

I hope there will always be artisans who can create this art.

Here in the US we used to have Steuben Glass and I watched them blowing the magnificent crystal there as well, but alas times and tastes have changed and I believe they have closed down Steuben...all those skills we are losing, very sad

Many beautiful crafts come out of Italy. The hand pained ceramics and the FABRIC! Fortuny comes to mind.

Hi there, unfortunately Murano is in big trouble as well these days, very sad. Some people here says that its already died :(

Craftsmen like Mazzuccato were becoming a rarity in Murano. The island is synonymous with the intricate work most people refer to as Venetian glass. Craftsmen here have been making glass for a millennium.

Local glassmakers estimate about half of Murano’s glass now is made in China or elsewhere. The thousands who used to work in the glass industry have dwindled to hundreds. Even the industrial glass factories are shutting down.
