I was stoked to watch The Road and was left completely and utterly depressed. Didn't even want to talk about it.

Book of Eli is just Denzel fab.....more of a Mad Max kind of movie but some things to think about for sure.

I need help finding an old 50s era doom movie. It is in black and white and it involves a family living in a secluded valley, I think Colorado, but it could be CA too. Anyways, a nuclear war breaks out(you don't really see it, it just says that's what happened) and radiation has basically forced them to stay in their little one family secluded valley. Once the story progress radiation beasts start coming into the valley, and eventually they go up to attack them.

That's about all i can recall, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it.

HG Wells "Time Machine" although isn't pure doom, it entails doom, and it's one of my favorite movies of all time.

No one mentioned this one: The Divide. This movie shocked me. It was a damn good movie about a few tenants and their super that make it to his bunker after NY is nuked. He only planned for himself, so they are short on supplies. This movie gets really sick and gory, I loved the gritty reality that this movie brings to mind. The actors are great, and some well known. It has that guy from terminator, Reese. A must see.

Maybe it would just be best to spend time in prayer, meditation and Love of God for a bit now..

Try the Walking Dead tv show.... pretty awesome and doomy, just think of the zombies as hoards of people who did not prepare for disaster... sort of like how people act on black friday

I wasn't sure what to think of the movie in the beginning but it got better especially at the end.

In that 'Threads' movie why wouldn't the civilian survivors just storm the 'military' and totally annihilate them as they were the cause of the destruction in the first place and they are still pointing their guns at the few that survive?

Ditto for me wrt The Road - too intense. Had to turn it off at the cellar scene, but this thread has motivated me to finish it (two years later).

And I've been stockpiling wet naps and mini shampoo bottles since watching Book of Eli. Worth more than their weight in gold.. ;)
