You will never want to survive the initial event of the end. Spoiler Alert: The only person with any sense in that movie was the mother. I didn't get out of bed the day after I watched that movie. It is fucked up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26997426 I heard the book is even worse. No thanks! That was probably the most depressing movie I've ever seen. |

Lemaus User ID: 14536050 United States 12/05/2012 12:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Southland Tales A very strange "comedy" about the end of the world with an amazing cast. I highly recomend this one. Oh and Motorama, its not apocalyptic exactly but it is definitly fringe. I almost forgot, Akira is animated but well worth watching and quite apocalyptic. As for me, all I know is that I know nothing. -Socrates |

Matrix-V User ID: 27588863 Canada 12/05/2012 01:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 'SIGNS' LOVE IT for pure awesome alien contact. always gives me the shivers. the language they are speaking through the baby monitors is 'insectoid'. They depict the alien at the end pretty good but a real one of that species would be FAR too scary to put on film for the general public in mainstream film. Anonymous Coward User ID: 28751940 New Zealand 12/05/2012 01:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | watch THREADS if you want the shit scared out of you. Post nuclear bomb, very hard hitting. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29096858 ^^^ This. End of thread. I can't believe someone recommended The Day After, which is a load of garbage compared to Threads, which came out the same year (1984). The acting is hammy, the special effects are Ed Wood terrible, it's pure crap compared to Threads, which is more realistic and gritty and down to Earth.. trust the Brits to do a proper job with a apocalypse movie compared to the cheesy way Americans do things. Here's a link to the full film - [link to www.youtube.com] - I watched this after watching The Road (2009), and if you thought The Road was bleak and grim, well Threads makes The Road seem like The Notebook in comparison. Awful to look through the list of movies recommended and they're all the usual crap Hollywood blockbusters.. c'mon GLP, we can do better than that, surely? |
