To say nothing will happen on 21/12 is really arogant. You dont know. No one knows for sure. Plenty of things could happen. For one I plan on waking up and having a really nice b'fast. Then I hope I spend quality time with my kids Someone around the world will win Loto or get laid, and so on and so forth. There is also the potential for world doom. If you dont beleive that you need to open your eyes and realise that we are tittering on the verge of WW3, we are on borrowed time with Nuclear power especially Fukushima, we are in trouble with global warming and so on a so forth. And of that is not enough there are more rules and regulation today than ever before in the modern world which renders exhistence on this planet a virtual jail.
So to say nothing will happen seem to suggest that everything is fine when clearly it is not and we all need to do something about it. By acknowleging the problem we will be able to work on it and come up with a solution.
