Why do Christians think Jesus is GOD?

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh.

No man says his arm is not apart of his body.

They don't read the bible.

The name Je'sus = ZEUS.

So the Christian church took what they needed from the real MESSIAH who walked this Earth, and applied it to Cesare Borgia, gave you the name Zeus (Jesus) and gave you a satanic doctrine which says ZEUS (Jesus) is GOD among a bunch of things (sunday worship, easter, christmas etc etc).

See how that works? Not to mention, the etymology on GOD is interesting in itself lol.

Like Christ said, many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many. CHRISTianity should be your number one suspect.

Yashayah = Saviour.

If Jesus were God,he would have made many personal quotes stating that. But mostly others stated it, and Jesus kept quiet when he was accused of claiming to be God.

My impression of the gospels is that the people insisted on calling Jesus a God because of the miracles, but Jesus said, everything I have done, you can do also. Then he got called up for trial before the Jewish council for blasphemy i.e. claiming to be God. And Jesus didn't defend himself but instead kept silent.
Seems like if he really were God, he would have told the people he was God, not tried to discourage them from thinking that.

There is an order, Jesus first then those who are reborn of the Holy Spirit. Sons of God.

It is only blasphemy if Jesus is a liar. God does not lie. No sin was found in Him or in the power of miracles He performed. He was condemned without just cause.

I think the Jews got it right, and the Romans got it wrong.

Both are mortals that must choose to believe or deny the authority of the Christ who came in the flesh.

The first verse quoted is widely misinterpreted by much of Christianity, and is rooted in a misunderstanding of the Trinity. Christ was saying that his mind is in tune with God. In other words, that holiness, Godliness (to put it lightly -- better worded as God Himself/Itself) coursed through his mind and flowed out in his actions and through his words. Christ had a Oneness with God.

Christ saying that "I and the Father are One" is akin to Salvador Dali saying "I am drugs". Obviously we know that Dali himself (or his work, for that matter) were not drugs themselves. Of course he used drugs, which means that he knew them and experienced them intimately. He knew the effect they had. So when he said, "I am drugs", he had the authority to say that the effect of his output -- his works -- was congruent with that of drugs.

Much the same way -- in his highly enlightened state of being (whether from birth or learned -- that's a different debate that is different from this discussion)-- Christ experienced God, knew God intimately. He knew the effect of God upon Creation. Therefore, he was able say that he and God were One, or in perfect unison. Their effect was the same.

The second verse is a product of the unenlightened Jews that he was ministering to lacking understanding of what Christ's message was. They weren't "saved", to put it in a Christian term. They were in a state of division from God. This lead them to listen to what Christ said without the "ears to hear", so they took what he said to mean that he was God come to earth -- a heretical blasphemy. Many people (Christians or not) still have a misunderstanding of this concept, so they deify the man rather than recognize the deity within the man.

We KNOW, KNOW, KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is God, because God says so:

The "I AM" the Jewish leaders fully understood each time Jesus said "I Am" that He was claiming to be God.

Christians believe it, because God says it over and over and over. Jesus said to the religious but lost: "Unless you believe that I Am (He), you will die in your sins.

I'm betting you think "Word" is actually a verbally spoken word, am I correct? If so, then you do not know what that passage means.

Substitute "Spirit" for "Word" and you'll get the picture. That passage means Spirit penetrating matter. In other words, Spirit inhabiting a physical body. The birth of humans beings. Spirit beings becoming human beings on earth.

During the baptism when the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove...The father and the holy spirit gave Christ the supernatural power he wold need to rip the veil and break the seals during his descent into Sheol.

This is what is meant by him and he father are one.

They are not the same being, just the mere fact that Jesus had to pray to the Father supports this. However, Jesus possessed the same Nature or Spirit that is in the Father aka. the Holy Spirit and hence they are one in Mind and Spirit!

Jesus was God in the flesh because there was and is only one being who's free from sin and righteous enough to save mankind, and that being is God himself.

"...And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me..." - Isaiah 63:5

For those proclaiming that Jesus is God, please read the following quote from Jesus prayer then answer the question following -

"that they may be all one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us,........... John 17:21

Question: Does this mean all those who will be - as Jesus prayed, 'one in Us', that they will be God as well?

Jesus clearly claimed to be God Almighty that is why He was crucified on the cross. Jesus also clearly accepted worship, Jesus never refused worship. Please read and study the following passages to clear your understanding of who Jesus is who He says He is.

Revelation 1:8: I am the Alpha and the Omega says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:17-18: When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One, I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever!

John 10:30: I and the Father are one.

John 8:58: I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I Am (Yah Weh)!

What does scripture say?

The God from the Old Testament is very different from Jesus, Yeshua. They ARE NOT the same.
