My Dogs are Constantly Looking Up and are Scared.....Anybody ??

Where are you? I'm in Maryland. My dog is acting so wierd. Been clinging to me and husband. We both are freaked about it. She's been quiet and laying right by our sides. My husband thinks it's like one of us is going to die or something. You know how they say dogs lay right next to you when you are sick or dying. So we don't know why she's doing this? She's usually pretty chill and sleeps on sofas or floor.

just thought I would share my odd dog behavior as well. Lately he just lays around staring at me very intently. I have also noticed him often looking very curiously at a spot on the wall above and behind me. It is as if he is watching a bug or something on the wall but I fail to ever see anything there. This behavior is relatively new only within the past few weeks.

Either there is something that is about to happen such as a earthquake or severe weather change. (Check your forecast, a deep freeze is coming to most of the US.)

Or you have a ghost in your house. Usually nothing to worry about. Dogs can usually tune out less of the other side then we do.

Definitely weird--stressed behavior escalating over the last few weeks.

a good friend of mine died on the 12th of Nov. I had the thought that my dog may be seeing spirit since his behavior got weird around that time.

That's probably it. Just say hi to your friend when they act weird. Ghosts appreciate the attention. Some will play minor pranks if ignored. (Not trying to freak you out, just acknowledging the world we live in.)

In LA during the 90s, a guy ran a quake prediction 'service' which was amazingly accurate. His 'technique' was to count the missing dogs and missing cats adverts in the local papers. They seem to go missing just 24-48 hours prior to a quake in that area.

People deduced and later 'proved' that dogs can hear the sounds caused before a quake.

Personally, I hope for yoursakes it is cloaked UFOs, they sound a whole lot more fun than an earthquake nearby.

Funny you say that. I actually have acknowledged and said HI to my friend when my dog is staring at nothing behind me with that weird look on his face. The idea of Spirits around does not faze me since I do believe there is an invisible world that most people can not detect but animals are more sensitive to.

Another friend of mine's father died a while ago. Ever since her dog howls at what appears to be nothing in the room. If she asks her dog where Grandpa is, the dog will often go behind her and begin a howling cry.

oh yes they can. One day, when I was out in the backyard, a helicopter flew over, & my little dog looked directly up at and watched it for a little. I think the noise of it bothered him.

Hmm. My cat was like this for about ten days. She's over it now, but around Thanksgiving week, she had to be in my lap every time I sat down.

All the animals have calmed down here even went away.

The bear left the raccoon left the fox was shot by the cops..the second cat that showed up panicking has went away of snugged in and keeping calm.

The first cat that showed up with the frankenstom freaking out is here in the house with my other two old cats.

He is my baby I am glad he came here and stayed with us.

They flared up from last weekend to about Wednesday this week.

Even the birds first it was one bird coming into the house breaking in through the cat door. Then it was two both male and female.

I had to get one out of the den yesterday because the cat was after it. I picked it up off the curtain pole carried it to the door and opened my hand and it flew away.

It will probably be right back tomorrow.
Those two birds have been out side the house for more than 2 years now.....then all of a sudden they want in the house.

Yet so did the raccoon sneak in and try to blend in with the cats and us.
At the same time this week the big fat bear showed up and wanted to hang out on our sun porch....just a hanging out there.

Yet now come Friday they are all calm and peaceful...laid back and lazy.

Where as even the cats in the house here were acting pretty bad this week...even hateful with each other picking on the little fellow that showed up.
Yet they had not been picking on is at all they treated him like he was one of them.

I am glad they have calmed down.

This has happened when he is curled up sleeping peacefully when he unexpectedly pops his little head up and looks behind me. Sometimes accompanied with a low gurgling growl. Not unfriendly but curious in nature.

I have no concept of the day of the week at all felt like Friday to me.
What those animals were doing here in Va-KY mountains was from last weekend before this past one....

They kept it up until this past Wednesday or Thursday all except the birds.

Yet my aunt on the coast of NC said hers were doing the same thing.

She call me and was asking me if I was having any strange animal behavior here and of course at that time I was also.

She said yesterday her cats will not even go out side they are acting terrified.
She was afraid something was out there.

She was worried something was out there that would kill her cats.

For the past 4 days... My Rotty/Lab mix has been acting very odd!! She goes to the doorway by the kitchen and looks me dead stare in the eyes and whimpers! She has nevee done this before. There is a back patio door off of the kitchen that she goes out of but very weird behavior for her! When i let her out she will just sit out and looks around intently. Like she is sensing something that's off.
Ive been clipping her leash to my purse at night so i can get it on her quick if something does happen and ive put her BOB next to ours. She's so protective over me so i trust her senses!

Haven't made a BOB for the dog!

Dogs in my neighborhood has been going off every damn night for almost two weeks,wish the nighttime critters would just keep it on the down-low so i could get some sleep.
