me too here in suburbs of chicago...it has a green something to the right side of it earlier and noq it has a blue hologram like image around it. never seen it look that odd before tonight. no joke, i also got to see a fireball streak close to the ground and it had a green tail behind it... one more thing... i'm going to get alot of slack for admitting this but there also happened to be a bunch of ufo's throughout our skies here tonight also... i had my binochoulars and they could be seen clear as day... couple different types. something is up...

Yep it's normal. If you have an iphone, download skyview. Best star app that I have come across.

I was about to post that the moon looks very different right now. Like it had turned, and we are seeing a new side to it. Very odd.

It is a perfect half moon, but the outer crust looks more solid, and the center looks much darker and cratered. Like a half slice of an orange. Is it just me here?

The moon rises and sets about 50 minutes later each day as it progresses through its phases. Always has. Full moon was last week when in general it rises around 6 pm and sets around 6 am. Tomorrow it will be third quarter when in general it rises around midnight and sets around noon. So yes, it is normal.
