Yesterday, I saw a very young looking UPS guy walking around in my neighborhood. I didn't see a truck anywhere, and these guys don't make deliveries on foot. If I see him again, I'm calling the cops. How easy would it be for someone to get a UPS uniform (or a reasonable facsimile), go around stealing packages, and just walk to his car. No one would think twice about a guy in a UPS uniform carrying a package.

the only answer (unless we get a better economy) would be to have UPS FEDX delivery centers (like a postoffice) where you pay a dollar per package to have your orders delivered there and with ID you pick them up.

Maybe an enterprising capitalist could invent such a place.

all you have to do is request the shipper add a signature request...the driver has to hand it to you!
