Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6413142 Why did we need to kill? This is a real question, I'm not trying to 'bait' anyone. ok op...long story short...the bible says the wages of sin is death and so god an animal to atone for sin until Jesus came along as the lamb of god, the final and ultimate sacrifice to atone for the sins of the world once and for all. Basically, in old testament religious practices, the animals were paying the price for the sins of the people so that the people wouldn't have to. |

Animals were sacrificed until Jesus was sacrificed and after that there has been no more animal sacrifice since then. They had to sacrifice animals over and over again to cover their sins until next sacrifice time. It only "covered" their sin. Jesus' sacrifice took them away for all time, provided you ask Him to save you through His sacrifice. |

That death defined what the bruise in Ge:3:15 meant. Death for man is the grave, which is where Christ was, that also defines death as what the bruise to Satan's head will be and for an Angelic being that has seen God's face death is the fiery lake and there is no coming back from that death. Pretty short summary, the longer version is somewhat clearer and it has some actual Scripture to support it. |

The had the blood spattered on them and they also ate of the flesh of another one. One was set free as a scapegoat. For runner to the last sacrifice, the lamb of God, his Son Yeshua or Jesus The Christ. He gave his blood as covering, the body was the bread or meat, that was a sign to the Jews so they would know who he was. That was why the story was to be remembered so they would know when they were told and had not been there when he died on the cross and was resurrected. That was all in the Old Testament you can see Christ in the whole thing if you read it and are a believer, if not your eye are open enough to see. You can read it if you ask for help from Gods Son, anytime you want to. God is my guide |

Yet the Jews missed the message, some of them. Killing animals is often seen as so bad yet you think nothing of the second death loss of the sinner for all eternity. Loss of the animal is nothing compared to the loss of the man/woman. |

When God's People obey God's Law, they and the planet are blessed. When God's People disobey God, they and the planet are cursed. Blood sacrifice for sin symbolizes the groaning of creation... until the manifestation of the sons of God [until God's People become Christ-like, having the Law of God written in their hearts.] . |

Other religions in the area were sacrificing people and even children to idol God's. It was a step in the right direction away from such non-sense. Lastly, the Messiah was spoken of then, These sacrifices were to be replaced with new wine and one final sacrifice for all, Jesus Christ. Although he was spoken of and expected, he came poor and humble, not with gold and pomp....they rejected him, killed him and that sacrifice was acceptable to God for all of us. Remember or never forget....Abraham stopped God from destroying us. [link to e-sword.com] |
