| Anonymous Coward User ID: 28988538 12/05/2012 01:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a proud picker and dumpster diver. It's made me a lot of money. Picking is perfectly legal where I live so long as the "trash" is on the curb. It's illegal to trespass on someone's lawn. That's reasonable, of course. What I don't get is how the fascists here at GLP are so opposed to something as intelligent and innocent as picking or dumpster diving. Frankly, I'm glad that you guys are put off by it. That's what makes it one of the best-kept secrets to making money. LOL. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 3202734 12/05/2012 01:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All depends. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3202734 If its on my property then its mine and only I decide if and what I want someone to pick if anything. There is a deal with garbage company where you specify how they pick it from you. When they come its their property from that moment. Its NEVER public property here. There are public garbage dumps but those in fact have an owner. ALWAYS. There is the owner and company which is assigned to it. There are specific deals that say who is responsible for which part and the garbage is never 'free'. Throwing garbage is a crime if you do not pay and you always have place for it. More. You need to utilize everything. You pay fee for TVs bikes furniture etc. You cant just put it anywhere like that. Many ppl do it but its illegal. You can give it to charity or make a free advert in local press or net but you cant put it openly in public (only on private property). There are also more and more closed 'public' garbage dumps making it obvious its not free stuff. They try to close all of them. There is in fact no 'public' garbage and trash. There is always an owner and there are alway independent companies who utilize and pick it. In fact it isnt a public service but private business. I know many are doing it ignoring the law and its mostly ignored. Its just minor crime here and police mostly do not care. It slowly starts beign put in use and Im happy bout that since Im tired of garbage beign thrown around and the mess that the divers make. You wanna something free? There are other ways of getting it. You prove Polack's aren't very bright. First you argue that trash is NEVER public property, then you bloviate on your countries "intelligent" manner of making people pay to throw anything and everything away, and then you ADMIT that it doesn't fucking work and your country is literally one giant dump because things get thrown wherever and yet you use this as why people SHOULD NOT pick up trash. Holy fuck, go attack a german panzer on horse back again. Wow calling names as an argument? I said - you are to pay if you put 'bigger' trash out and some specyfic shit like TVs (if you use 'Public' Dumpsters). Many ppl dont do it and it wasnt reported too often. Now things begin to change. I never said it doesnt work at all. One Giant Dump? lmao - our cities are generally cleaner than those in the US. Our system is getting better and even now (with some ppl avoiding cost and abusing it) works quite good. Dont know what you try to achieve. Calling names is a typical counter argument used by ppl like you. and lol the cavalry myth - nazi (later commie) propaganda... oh my.. I dont like explaining the same facts over again - read some history and get a better info |

NOT ONLY IS IT DONE TO MY TRASH BUT ITS PERFECTLY FINE WITH EVERYONE I KNOW. SOME OF YOU PEOPLE HERE ARE FUCKED IN THE HEAD AND LOVE A NAZI LIFESTYLE. SCREW YOU. People like you is the reason why I shred and burn all my documents and destroy all my items before it goes into the garbage. Why? Because most of the dumpster divers are thieves. I can't leave any legible papers in the trash because of identity theft so some dumpster diver could buy some crack. I can't leave any usable property in the dumpster because they'll take it out and use it for themselves, when the exchange was meant for the garbage company, NOT YOU. Yes, anything I leave in the garbage bin is still my property until the garbage company takes it. Why? Because I pay for the service for them to take it, NOT YOU. And do you realize it's people like you that people DON'T want to donate their property they were going to throw away? |

Quoting: Mickeyblue 9806228 Trespassing for one...my trash cans sit on my property... If your rubbish bins are on your property, then they're off limits to us. However, in many places residents must put their rubbish on the curb so that the trash collectors don't have to trespass in order to get it. Where I live, trash collectors won't take your rubbish unless it's on public property. They won't come onto your property. |

There is (what I thought anyway) an upspoken agreement with the waste dept. that my refuse is to be disposed of properly and not used for anyones gain or used against me. Besides I don't want anyone going through my garbage, that's just creepy. And I certainly don't want anyone on my property. Much less invading my privacy. What about the germs and diseases you must come in contact with. Yuk. Plus if you got in an accident on a bicycle because the bicycle wasn't fit to be rode you'd probably sue the previous owner for putting out a bicycle that was dangerous.
