The Syrian goverment has been trying to recover the helicopters since June. Iraq has recently come under pressure from the US and other countries to stop any arms from reaching Syria. You'll see that in the 2nd article it talks about how weapons were being loaded "to make it appear" that Assad was gassing his people so that the West (US) and NATO could intervene. It's happening.
