The parents of my childhood best friend owned a Carvel. Jerry used to run errands for them, do odds and ends around the shop and some times keep an eye on my friend and I.

I remember him playing paper dolls with me and yelling at me not to eat the chocolate crunchy things that go in the middle of the cakes.

I also remember him taking us with him to the bank to get change. It was walking distance and we stopped at a pizza place on the way back. He got us some Sicilian pizza and a root beer. We watched him play pin ball and he let us pick a song on the juke box. He gave us crap when we leaned against the pinball machine and messed up his game.

Not a very interesting story, but true.
