Yep. Right here in #4 Alabama (Albania); a pimple on the ass of prosperity....if the world was going to give the planet an enema; it would be inserted here....more directly, into "Bluebirds" house....(huntsville).
 Quoting: Elsabiades.... 28025858

If more people in your state had the common sense of Bluebird, Alabama wouldn't be on this list.

So now people who work for the state government are takers too? I should tell this to my brother who worked all his adult life at a state job and is now retired. Sometimes he complains about the lazy parasites, I'll tell him he's now considered one too! My dad was a government scientist who developed a lot of things, guess he was a taker too... (what bullshit).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4177522

Correct if you work for the government you are indeed a parasite.

If a person takes other peoples money at gun point or with the threat of imprisonment, then, yes, they are indeed a parasite, your wonderful brother who worked his adult life, and your dad the scientist are indeed parasites.

Especially whenever you consider that the government they worked for, keeps cures for cancer secret, locks up anyone with treatments, and keeps almost all alternative power sources not related to something they can tax, classified, or just simply kill the scientists who create it.

Yes, they are parasites, the truth is harsh but true.

I know Arkansas isn't on the list. It is state law that our budget balances.

Every state and federal government should that law.

California ,hands down, is the numero uno. Like many list articles they are way off. The taxes are the highest with the Democrat super majority. A new tax on lumber @ 1 % along with the 10 % sales tax in many cities puts lumber @ 11% TAX. Prop 30 just added another .25% TAX. Death of a thousand cuts for California. No border = 3rd world shit hole. Takers gonna take and the Democrats are just getting the tax orgy started.

I was just saying on Facebook how it's time to leave Illinois. The state senate just announced that they will allow undocumented illegal immigrants to get drivers licenses. I haven't been able to get my driver's license back for 6 years because I know how to install N02 on a car and they call me a "risk." This state is so fucked, and when the state that the president comes from is fucked, you can bet he will try to fuck up the rest of the U.S.
 Quoting: ZeuZ

WTF? What part of the word "illegal" do they not understand?

So how will they get insurance? etc....????

1doh1
 Quoting: geminilion

Many of vehicle accidents are due to illegals, and none of them have insurance. Cops hands are tied on this, our govt just looks the other way...

Same with DUI and I have heard there are illegals coming in to our states committing sex acts with children. Its disgusting, yet it never gets reported, and they are still here...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29135732

Some states are full of idiots and Illinois is one of them. However, most of us have to take the blame also.

-Quit buying meat from Tyson, Perdue, etc. - they all employ illegals. Try and purchase your meat locally.
- Same for produce, try to buy local during the summer and can or dehydrate it. Otherwise you $$'s are going into the pockets of corporations who employ illegals and into the pockets of the illegal themselves.
-Limit your buying to USA made products and only essentials that are imported or made by companies that use illegals.
-Stop eating at ethnic restaurants unless you are 100% certain the employees are here legally.
-Don't contract for any construction, roofig, tree trimmers, lawncare, home healthcare, beauty service (esp. nail salons) unless you confirm that their employees are US citizens or here legally.

The people of the USA still have considerable purchasing power. If you say 'NO' to purchases produced by illegals or foreign labor, then they will leave. Also, stay on top of how your local reps vote and vote them out.

Re: The 11 "Death Spiral" States Do you live in one of these?
Yes, they are takers, because who is paying their salary, benefits and retirement? The makers.
 Quoting: truthwillsetyoufreeagain

They are working to earn their salary, benefits & retirement. No different than someone who works for the private sector for their salary, benefits & retirement. Neither are taking, both are earning, making something. Sometimes it is safe streets they are making, sometimes it is the ability for you to get electricity in your home that they are making, sometimes it is cars they are making, etc. Only real difference is what organization is paying them for their work. Sometimes it is a private company, sometimes it is a publicly owned company, sometimes it is a quasi-government backed utility, sometimes it is an NGO, sometimes it is a government agency. Makers come in lots of different flavors, and it's not all just private sector flavored. Benefits are part of the wages people are paid for their work, called a total compensation package. So are pensions, most of which the employees contribute their own earnings to. I used to work for a state gov agency for a while. The 7% that went into my retirement fund each month was deducted directly from my wages, not taken as a "freebie".

It's because state workers (all federal workers) are supported by taxes paid by the private sector workers. All of government workers salaries, benefits, pensions are inordinately high compared to private sector and are paid through tax monies. ALL of their earnings come from tax dollars.... kind of recycled. I was a state worker for a few years, and people in state jobs are mostly paper shufflers who really accomplish nothing of benefit to the private sector producers.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29141324

Yeah. I'm a college professor at a two-hundred-year-old state college, teaching young people, many of them future military, how to think critically, communicate and lead. I don't accomplish anything of benefit.

I live in New York. We are taxed all kinds of crazy. The State government is a joke. My small town has people paying $6k+ in property tax for a medium sized house. The next town over has the one of the highest property tax rates in the country. We are no were near NYC either.
 Quoting: BossPickupTrucks 2530630

Yup. I'm in CNY...

School Tax: $4800
Country Tax: $2000
Village Tax: $1000

Homeowners Fee (yup, property isn't even technically mine): $2400/yr

I'm assessed at $170,000

Fun, right????redfaceredfaceredfaceredface

I live in the country in Virginia. Have ten acres, 2400 sq ft home, huge barn. Property taxes are about $1000 a year.

Location, location, location.

You are making your point pretty clear in an ironic kinda way lol. Flaunting it huh?

 Quoting: Jacked Burton

Not flaunting, just saying that people live with the consequences of their actions. I have the good grace, I guess, to live purposefully in a place that is a pretty good deal.

Got any numbers or links on that. I would beg the differ on that. Drill Sgt. used to tell us that the largest standing army in the world was in texas on opening day of rifle season. More guns and ammo on the move than anywhere else including the military. WAKE UP AMERICA

I should've said conceal carry permits and pro- self defense laws . african
