McSmugglars Update - Part 2 - Human Trafficing in Sweden. The Press has been digging

Selling work permits, even illegally, is not Human Trafficing, especially if the workers enter with visas.

However people who are in countries without visas often find themselves compromised by not wanting to avail themselves of their civil rights, although the story you cite does not indicate that they were in Sweden without visas.

In the story you posted I only saw written evidence of a political issue with the restaurant union but not the sort of abuse one would call "Human Trafficing".

It is human trafficing because the Managers are not allowed to sell work permits. It's the same as paying a smugglar to come in which is how it is estimated 90 % of all immigrants come into Sweden.

There is a slight fee to file for a work visa. But the thousands of dollars paid was under the table and thus criminal activity.

This is the point. That representatives within the McDoanalds organization are taking bribes by persons outside the EU to get a way into Sweden. Yes, it goes thru the system, but only because of the carelessness and laziness of the Swedish authorities.

As to the ethical or moral implications...I will leave that to the view of each person.

Oh, so these are slaves with official Swedish visas?

Sounds more to me like simple government corruption.
