Let's keep The Light of the World in Christmas Besides the concept of Santa Claus is actually celebrated everywhere as December 6 because this is Nicholas' name day. Children are supposed to clean their shoes so that St. Nicholas can put a little chocolate or oranges. |

Other kids asked who brought them. They'd reply "Sankt Niklas". Say that real fast and you get santa claus. The red outfit was after the red outfit bishops in that day wore. He was a bishop in medievel times who heard three sisters crying that they could never marry because their dad was too poor to provide a dowry. He felt bad and got some gold coins from the last collection and filled three bags with money. He left it in the wooden clogs outside the door that they slipped on to walk in the muddy streets. I also had a dilemna when my 4 kids were little. They wanted to know did santa like rich kids better since they got more gifts and they sometimes only got one on st. Nicks feastday and at Christmas, why do WE get gifts, when its baby Jesus birthday...shouldnt He get the presents. Here was my expanation: THey knew the above true story. I told them the love and happiness you feel at Christmas is exactly because its Jesus birthday. He is in Heaven and so is st. Nicholas. They both loved us and want us also to be happy so IN SPIRIT they inspire our moms and dads to show that love by buying or making gifts for their loved ones. Rich families give more because they have more. Our family made alot of gifts because we werent cash wealthy but we showed each other alot of extra love, and no family is limited in that ability by amount. We even gave the birds the tree when it was done, filled with treats and gave to all less fortunate of our time wrapping gifts for them and so on. Jesus in His bountifull love for us shows us on this day and in this season what Christians should do EVERY DAY of their lives...wouldnt that be great. But there is a socialist adgenda afoot to twist out of childrens minds the fanciful, imaginative, creative talent of childhood with its rainbow of dreams and paint our lives with the gray cement of the harsh reality of life. Imagination is a step towards faith and love and there is no place for these in their coming world. Get rid of Sants and the Easter Bunny, get rid of Faith and God and Religion, get rid of the parents and all you have left are good little workers for the state... |

Most of us normal, well-adjusted people believed in Santa as well, and remember it as a magical and wonderful time in our childhood lives that we wouldn't trade for anything. Believing in fairy tales as a child, when your supposed to, and then learning the truth as you get older is NOT harmful; it is merely part of growing up.
