A factor that has been negated is the fact that the man involved was a "step parent". 80% of step parents HATE their spouses children! I mean HATE. You always see scenario's like this. Abuse involving the mothers boyfriend, or the fathers girlfriend so on and so forth...

I don't care what any of you say...it's a factor here. All you single and remarried women with children...watch out! I know, I know..."he's a good guy", or "he's not like that"...bleh!

Watch'em!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 7-year-old boy was beaten to death by his parents last week after he failed to read the Bible and do his homework
Actually that is not true. Yeshua and his Apostles were pro-Law of Moses and obedient to it themselves. It was only the Judgements(ie,stonings) that were annulled.

Matthew 5:17-19

King James Version (KJV)

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
 Quoting: TheSeventhGate

How about the dietary laws that got turfed?

Ac:10:11:
And saw heaven opened,
and a certain vessel descending unto him,
as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners,
and let down to the earth:
Ac:10:12:
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth,
and wild beasts,
and creeping things,
and fowls of the air.
Ac:10:13:
And there came a voice to him,
Rise,
Peter;
kill,
and eat.
Ac:10:14:
But Peter said,
Not so,
Lord;
for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Ac:10:15:
And the voice spake unto him again the second time,
What God hath cleansed,
that call not thou common.

The 10 Commandments made it through fully intact.

Jas:2:8:
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself,
ye do well:
Jas:2:9:
But if ye have respect to persons,
ye commit sin,
and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas:2:10:
For whosoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet offend in one point,
he is guilty of all.
Jas:2:11:
For he that said,
Do not commit adultery,
said also,
Do not kill.
Now if thou commit no adultery,
yet if thou kill,
thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Jas:2:15:
If a brother or sister be naked,
and destitute of daily food,
Jas:2:16:
And one of you say unto them,
Depart in peace,
be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body;
what doth it profit?
Jas:2:17:
Even so faith,
if it hath not works,
is dead,
being alone.
 Quoting: MHz

They weren't turfed for Yeshua and all the Apostles kept the Law on eating clean foods.

Acts 10 tells about Peters vision of a great sheet descending from heaven. The sheet is filled with unclean animals, and a voice says, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat." Peter says, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."

This was many years after the Crucifixion and Resurrection. If Yeshua had "declared all foods clean" several years earlier, Peter certainly didnt know anything about it! Yet many Christians believe that God sent this vision to tell Peter that He had "changed His mind" about the dietary laws, and abolished them. However, the context shows that the vision had nothing at all to do with a change in Gods dietary laws.

The message of the vision was that God was cleansing the Gentiles through their faith in the Messiah, and God wanted these Gentiles to be part of the body of Messiah, a body which at this time consisted of only native-born Jews and of proselytes who had undergone a full, formal conversion to Judaism. The unclean animals in the sheet were symbolic of the Gentile nations. This kind of symbolism would not have seemed unusual to Peter, a Jew who was familiar with the Scriptures. In the writings of the Prophets, the Gentile nations are symbolized by unclean animals such as the eagle, the lion, the bear, and the leopard. (See Ezekiel 17 and Dan. 7).

To properly understand Peters vision, we must put ourselves in Peters shoes. Like the Messiah he followed, Peter was a Torah-observant man. He knew God had clearly commanded His people to not eat certain animals. This is why he said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."

To put yourself in Peters shoes, imagine that you, as a born-again Christian man, go into a trance and see a great sheet let down from heaven. The sheet is filled with naked women. You hear a voice address you by name and say, "Arise, take and commit adultery!"

Like Peter, you would be taken aback by such a vision, because you know that the Scriptures dearly forbid such an act. The only conclusion you could draw from such a vision would be: a) it is of the devil; or b) it is of the Lord, but certainly not meant to be taken in a literal sense.

When the messengers of Cornelius arrived, Peter understood that the vision was indeed from the Lord. The fact that these men were Gentiles led Peter to understand the true meaning of the vision: "God hath shown me that I should call no MAN common or unclean" (Acts 10:28). Peters explanation makes it clear that the vision was meant to be understood in a figurative sense.

Peter had the brains to know that God would not command him to do something that the Scriptures clearly forbid. Peter understood that the vision had nothing at all to do with a change in the dietary laws; it was Gods way of showing Peter His intention to graft the Gentiles into the commonwealth of Israel through their faith in Israels Messiah. And those grafted into Israel should obey the commandments which God gave to Israel.

either God created everything, or everything created itself

A complex creation must have a creator (Rom. 1:20). It's no wonder we never
witness a tornado rip through a junkyard and accidentally assemble a fully
fueled and functioning 747 jet airliner.

Being that there must be a creator, it is now most important that man find out
who God is (John 1:1) and what God wants (Eccl. 12:13).

You are not God, and your attempting to play God is sick, sad, and evil.

There is no such thing as the 'moral law.' There is only one Law and that is the Law of Moses. And I don't need to go back and read the gospels, I just provided some verses from the gospels. Maybe it is you who should read them because you have contradicted what Yeshua said in the verses above.
 Quoting: TheSeventhGate

The Law of Moses he wrote in a book and placed it inside the Ark of the Covenant. God's 10C law was written by God's finder in stone and was then placed inside the Ark. Two different laws.

Jesus explains to a disciple:

Mt.19:16 "And, behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said to him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments. He said to him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

The disciple asked, which law, not knowing if Jesus meant the law of Moses or God's 10C law. Then Jesus names a few to explain which law.

Then we are told exactly what was 'nailed to the cross' in Col 2:14-17 (KJV) - the sacrificial system that was a shadow of the coming Messiah.

Law of Moses vs.
God's Ten Commandments

[link to www.mobxpozd.com]
 Quoting: Klink 29002615

Not so. The 'ten Commandments' come from the Law of Moses, the Torah. And there is no reference to them as the ten Commandments found in the Hebrew Bible, it was a mistranslation. They are called the ten statements.

See here.

For some reason, many people have the impression that there are only ten commandments. Everyone has heard of the "Ten Commandments," or at least they've heard of the movie.

I'll tell you a secret. There's no such thing!

Nowhere in the Torah is the phrase "ten commandments" used at all. When referring to these ten, the Torah always calls them the Aseres Had'vorim, the "Ten Statements," or the "Ten Words." In Aramaic, that comes out as "Aseres Hadibros," which is what we usually call them. It means the same thing: the "Ten Statements."

The Hebrew words for "Ten Commandments" would be "Aseres Hamitzvos." But no such term exists anywhere in the Torah or in Rabbinical Writings. Anywhere.

However, in Exodus 34:28, the King James' Bible uses the term "ten commandments" to translate the phrase, which is absolutely incorrect.

The original Hebrew, however, doesn't say that. The Hebrew says "Ten Statements." The same is true in Deuteronomy 4:13 and 10:14.

So get this: Millions of people in the world are confused because of a poor translation in the King James' Bible. They all think that when the Torah refers to "doing Hashem's Commandments," the Torah is referring to those Ten Statements that Hashem spoke at Mount Sinai, and no more! And the truth is, they're wrong!

To be sure, the Ten Statements are also Commandments. They are ten of the 613 Commandments of the Torah. Also, they represent ten categories of Commandments, which means that all the 613 can be represented by those ten, but there are far more than ten Commandments in the Torah. (The reason Hashem made those Ten Statements will be discussed, Hashem willing, in another article, possibly on the Holiday Gateway for Shavuos. No promise.)

So there are actually 613 Commandments in the Torah, but as I have shown above, most of them don't apply to most people.

So what are those Commandments? Well, I hope to get to that too, Hashem willing. But first, I hope to discuss more about the Jewish relationship with G-d.

And to this.

"The disciple asked, which law, not knowing if Jesus meant the law of Moses or God's 10C law. Then Jesus names a few to explain which law."

No he didn't ask which Law, he was asking which Commandments to follow.

 Quoting: TheSeventhGate

That would apply to the type of Jews Jesus was talking to in Matthew 23. God was making their being scattered into the Nations easier for them. The 600+ laws were for Jesus to follow so He could still be sinless when the cross happened.
All Apostles would have adopted what Peter was given or they would have been guilty of disobedience and in the OT Neb was sent to terminate the lease they had on the holy land once they started killing Prophets, Stephen was proof they had not changed.
Acts 10 doesn't have a lot of events before it so it was the end of the 70th week and the cross was at mid-week.

You must have some threads going that deal with this, care to bump 1 and we can carry this on on that rather than mess this one up any more.

It wasn't a change of mind, the laws were for the events associated with the bruise to the heel, all 4 Gospels are the final witness of how that was completed, the whole OT (with the exception of some prophecies that deal with the other bruise)is prophecy and fulfillment of that one bruise. The NT is prophecy about how the other bruise happens and it is Gentiles who mess up and that results in 2/3 of them being killed as sinners while the whole House of Israel is physically resurrected back to life)
