What a big pile of stupid.

She said the baby got taken away for neglect before she could even take it home. So, did she not get the right vaccines or was she too tired after labor to breastfeed or what? That seems a little soon to yank a kid away from their parent.

I didn't log in but every time a child is born, the baby is tested for drugs. Most people don't know this, my friend worked for children services and told me. I was prescribed codein but only took 1 or 2 before the baby was born and I had to tell them that I took those drugs and they confirmed it with the doc. If they find anything in the babies system it will be automatically be taken away for neglect. The mother won't get her child.

Not if the baby had drugs in it's system after delivery.

Wow, I had no idea the baby was tested for drugs as soon as it was born.


I have mixed emotions when it comes to that. Certainly a mother who would endanger her child by taking drugs while pregnant needs to be evaluated.

I would hope, however, depending on what is in her system, that even if the child was taken away temporarily, she could start a legal process by which she can reclaim her rights to her child again.

Well, mom may have some issues of her own with the 'legal process', i.e., criminal legal process that is...I don't think a court would consider giving mom her baby back at this point in time.
