Epic Egypt Showdown! ( stream link) | |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27619877 12/05/2012 06:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | From yesterday: Supporters and opponents of Egyptian leader Mohammed Morsi fought with rocks, firebombs and sticks outside the presidential palace in Cairo on Wednesday in large-scale clashes that marked the worst violence of a deepening crisis over the disputed constitution. Egypt's Health Ministry said 126 people were wounded in the clashes that were still raging hours after nightfall. Three of Morsi's aides resigned in protest of his handling of the crisis. With two aides who had quit earlier, now five of his panel of 17 advisers have left their jobs since the problems began. Mohamed ElBaradei, a leading opposition advocate of reform and democracy, said Morsi's rule was "no different" from that of former President Hosni Mubarak, whose authoritarian regime was toppled in an uprising nearly two years ago. "In fact, it is perhaps even worse," the Nobel Peace Laureate told a news conference after he accused the president's supporters of a "vicious and deliberate" attack on peaceful demonstrators. The opposition is demanding Morsi rescind decrees giving him nearly unrestricted powers and shelve a disputed draft constitution that the president's Islamist allies passed hurriedly last week. The dueling demonstrations and violence are part of a political crisis that has left the country divided into two camps: Islamists versus an opposition made up of youth groups, liberal parties and large sectors of the public. Both sides have dug in their heels, signaling a protracted standoff. The latest clashes began when thousands of Islamist supporters of Morsi descended on the area around the palace where some 300 of his opponents were staging a sit-in. The Islamists, members of Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood group, chased the protesters away from their base outside the palace's main gate and tore down their tents. more: [link to www.cbsnews.com] And they still protesting, conflict expands. This should be main topic today. |

ROFL ![]() You would be surprised how many "pro Zionists" are a part of this clashes right now, only most don't know...only the one's who incite, send them and give them the strategies (either side mind you). I say it again for the record what I said in all the other threads, I'm not on ANY of those camps, the whole situation could have been avoided, all we see now is political power games and muscle flexing. There's not just MB and anti MB out there...fyi...there's more crap happening here these days. The Islamists are divided, the MB are divided, the liberals are divided BIG TIME! Unless someone step up to the plate who says NO to an IMF loan and is able to create a Constitution that will include ALL of Egypt's society AND not be corrupted or intimidated by Military or Western Powers, this will NEVER stop. Right now I don't see anyone with balls of steel to stand up for Egypt. I'm sick of ALL of them at this point...they ALL sit and watch Egyptians fight with each other while appearing in public making stupid statements and inciting more, instead of solving the problem. Nobody has the best interest of this country at heart, everyone is playing some game and securing his position and interest. Anyways, on a fact report from eye witnesses earlier, the people clashing are mostly in side streets and now many are out catching guys who cause violence or have weapons. Lets see if a Winner will be caught who will sing a little song on how he was "inspired to fight" for one or the other side. |

It would help me to understand what corruption techniques they use. Suez Canal is definitely extremely interesting to them, not for the money so much but for the strategic purpose. Also loads of minerals, natural gas reserves, oil, black gold, you name it. Egypt is rich....we all should be swimming in luxury now. Oh fuck it - I'll say what I think: It's not the MB vs. Moderates or Liberals. I tell you what it is, it's the one's who never had shit vs. the one's who had it all and now are worried its being taken away from them. That's what we're watching now. Yeah, IMF is something I'd like to know what are the conditions on the 6 Billion loan? Why did Morsi feel he had to suddenly make a declaration to protect the "sovereignty" of Egypt right after Hillary and the Lagarde crew left on November 20th? The whole thing is a theater....screw all of them, it shows they don't care about Egypt at all, only about themselves. Except for some few smart and brave people who are out there fighting for Egypt, but their message is getting lost, scrambled, misunderstood...the rest don't even know what they're out there for or all for different reasons. Lots of sell-outs I discovered these days I must say. Very disappointing. |
