| Anonymous Coward User ID: 7018975 12/06/2012 01:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not saying that the theory about Orion and the moon being off track and out of place is wrong . . . but why do so many people who live in trailer houses far out in the country have a beat up old RV and/or school bus sitting there surrounded by a junkyard assortment of metal, tires, trashy furniture pieces, etc. strewn all over the place. Not everyone can afford to live in a nice house or apartment, but geez why are these types of trailer people always so filthy? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12799994 Wow, do you realize how absolutely pompous and uppity you sound? Dont worry, we'll all be the same soon. The nice thing about poor people is that can and will make it through the hard times because that's all they have know. Rich people will go crazy and jump of of high buildings if their bank accounts get below $10,000. You don't know why these people are poor. It could be out of their control. You should think about what youre saying least you become one of THOSE people. Exactly, not everybody who lives in a trailer is broke... I live in my trailer, it's very nice, large, fully equipped, totally paid for, has all the comforts of home, has it's own backup "grid" and access to the main grid and is on 100% paid for land. I pay no rent besides $200/year in property tax and if I don't like the neighbors (who are almost a mile away) or the situation here, I can drive off with my home and find a new cheap place. I work in manhattan and you would never guess if you looked at me. Only drawback is the crazy commute, which I can totally afford as I don't have a house note to slave over. It's fun, cheap and flexible, as was said before, you should consider it as an option and get used to it, you may end up in far worse in the future. Thanks for listening. |

Is there that much of a variation each month? Orion is in about the same relation to the moon as from a few nights ago, but it is noticeably further to the South as well, instead of almost directly overhead where I usually notice it. Here is a quote from one of the film makers: The scientific explanation is that the warming Arctic air is causing temperature inversions, which in turn cause the light of the sunset to refract so that the sun appears to be setting a few kilometres off-kilter. "There is so much garbage in the air, it's refraction that's causing our elders to think our world has tilted," Kunuk says. But the filmmakers don't include that scientific explanation in the film, nor any other comments from the scientific community. Instead, the film deals strictly with the elders' observations and their belief that they have no control over climate change and they simply have to adapt. |

Amateur astronomers (guys/gals looking around from their backyard) can probably be credited with almost as many discoveries as 'world astronomers', who by the way are often locked into an intellectual paradigm that they refuse to budge from much like the scientists at the time who claimed to know for fact that the earth was flat. Are you aware the Milky Way is not our home galaxy? 'World Astronomers' don't like that getting out much either, doesn't look good for their paradigm.
