I believe him. I move around too much to have noticed, but he has been looking at it for years in the same place.

My only question for you is, How much time do you actually spend outside under the stars on that high horse of yours?

Except for rare work demands, like the last couple of nights, I spend most of my time outside from sunrise into the late evening. Not even an amature astronomer, so yeah... the 'science' of it is not my strong point, but I likely have more genuine familiarity than most.

I didn't say "world astronomers", I said "the world's astronomers" as in ALL of them, not a particular high-ranking segment.

IT'S ME lol...I've been messing with Orion for a while now. Tonight I even made it laugh with Tintin'S Castophiore. "Margueritte, est-ce toi si c'est toi? Réponds-moi viiiiiite!" And then I spotted my casual shooting star.

Just trying to get an response from Orion. I will continue indeed!

I'm not the one making wild claims about things being out of place in the sky. I'm not sure how much higher a horse could be than in doing that.

You're clueless. Sky programs utilize various sky survey data. Satellites need not even be involved. Those original images are available and have not changed. Get a grip.

Most consumer astronomy programs utilize VSOP87, which is French, not US Navy, NASA, etc and as the name implies, it was written in 1987. Still works.

Orion is in the right place...we're just in the wrong (or a different) place. In my opinion, there has definitely been a polar shift--my husband & I have noticed the sun setting in a different place from where we've watched it go down for 20 years. The distance from where it previously set to now appears to be just about the same as OP indicated in the video--a couple of hundred feet. It used to set due west from our home; now it's moved to the northwest. This, coupled with those of us who have noticed the "Cheshire Cat" moon phase (with the crescent lying on its side instead of standing on end), is proof enough for me. Further proof is the video of native Alaskans discussing that the sun now rises in a different place than it has for generations ( [link to www.youtube.com] ). Oh, Jesus! What's wrong with you? One unknown nutjob says in a Youtube video that Orion rises from the wrong place and everyone on GLP agrees with him and it gets pinned too. Have you ever watched the sky by yourself? Orion rises from the place that it should be rising, and no, stars don't just jump some tens of thousands of light years in a single year, nor they would do that with keeping formation to what the inhabitants of Earth would see...Orion is in place and with the other stars in place with respect to the constellation.

Oh, sorry that post was for Dr. Astro, we are awaiting his verdict. Jesus and I are friends from way back. I don't have to knock anymore, I just think about it and He shows up. Very informal.
