Re: Why did God do Satanís bidding?
all religious people have anxiety disorders to varying degrees (they will deny this, but they know it's true) because they're constantly in fear of putting a foot out of place (hence 'god fearing'), being judged by 'god' and being eternally damned to the lake of fire.

what a tragic existence and waste of life.

Op who do you say God is. Please state the specific names. And say who satan is. Be very specific.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22787868

To name a God is to idol worship so I do not name it.
There is no Satan or God as described in the scriptures.
If there were, then the Haig would quickly try him for genocide.

I do hold a belief though.
The Godhead I know in a nutshell.
I was a skeptic till the age of 39.
I then had an apotheosis and later branded myself a Gnostic Christian naturalist.
Gnostic Christian because I exemplify this quote from William Blake.

ďBoth read the Bible day and night, But thou read'st black where I read white.Ē

This refers to how Gnostics tend to reverse, for moral reasons, what Christians see in the Bible. We tend to recognize the evil ways of O T God where literal Christians will see Godís killing as good. Christians are sheeple where Gnostic Christians are goats.
This is perhaps why we see the use of a Jesus scapegoat as immoral, while theists like to make Jesus their beast of burden. An immoral position.

During my apotheosis, something that only lasted 5 or 6 seconds, the only things of note to happen was that my paradigm of reality was confirmed and I was chastised to think more demographically. What I found was what I call a cosmic consciousness. Not a new term but one that is a close but not exact fit.

I recognize that I have no proof. That is always the way with apotheosis.
This is also why I prefer to stick to issues of morality because no one has yet been able to prove that God is real and I have no more proof than they for the cosmic consciousness.

The cosmic consciousness is not a miracle working God. He does not interfere with us save when one of us finds it. Not a common thing from what I can see. It is a part of nature and our next evolutionary step.

I tend to have more in common with atheists who ignore what they see as my delusion because our morals are basically identical. Theist tend not to like me much as I have no respect for literalists and fundamentals and think that most Christians have tribal mentalities and poor morals.

I am rather between a rock and a hard place but this I cannot help.

I am happy to be questioned on what I believe but whether or not God exists is basically irrelevant to this world for all that he does not do, and I prefer to thrash out moral issues that can actually find an end point. The search for God is never ending when you are of the Gnostic persuasion. My apotheosis basically says that I am to discard whatever God I found, God as a set of rules that is, not idol worship it but instead, raise my bar and seek further.

My apotheosis also showed me that God has no need for love, adoration or obedience. He has no needs. Man has dominion here on earth and is to be and is the supreme being.

Re: Why did God do Satanís bidding?
I don't go to church and don't belong to any specific religion. I do consider myself a christian. I defiantly without a doubt believe in God and Jesus Christ. I have experienced too many incidents in my life that involved God helping me personally to not believe without a doubt. Do I have all the answers? I don't. I'm a Christian and I live a life with good morals.

I do notice in this timeline, Christianity is being assaulted in all ways, shapes, and forms. The word and any meaning of God is being taken away from the world we live in by the non believers. I am not the type of person to go around and ridicule people for not believing. I believe it is of their own personal choice. But it seems the non believers are really bothered and upset that anyone could believe or have the same right and personal choice to believe in God. We as Christians are ridiculed, and made fun of daily.

If you don't believe in God that is of your own personal choice, I respect that and is your right. We are put on this earth to be able to choose. How you choose is of your own personal freedom to do so.

I would recommend not to question God. God is not human and it would be impossible to understand some of the answers some may seek from the mindset of a human brain. The bible was written by man. I do believe in the word of God. But with that being said, Man is flawed and not perfect, so with what parts of the bible that man had written and not perceived correctly I'm not sure about.

But overall the Bible's messages are consistent and clearly show how we are all suppose to live a moral life and that there are consequences for our decisions.

Again, I do respect everyone's right to believe or not to believe. I don't think anyone is less of a human being for which way they decide to live their life. When the people posting on this thread clump all christian people into one category on how you think all christian people live their life, then I must respectfully say your wrong.

God Bless You

Job is one of the finest pieces of literature ever written.

and any attribute of God can never be thought of without considering foremost, God cannot lie.

Ezekiel 14:9
"And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the Lord have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel."

Kings 22:23
"So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you."
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22137386

These are just willing dupes to play out the role they were created for - to decieve the willingly blind - God cannot lie, but there are plenty of volunteers in the waiting, thinking they are in control - they get a chance to prove just what spirit they are of - decieving and BEING deceived - God wins and they play the part of fools - to their own destruction. It was always in them to do so which is to bring themselves to their final destruction
 Quoting: Ohwow!

your god lies, your religion is about lies, and YOU are a liar. you are lying to me right now. and for what? to trap me in your web of lies just like you are trapped.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23781402

You call me a liar, and then proclaim I am trying to trap you? Sorry, not like with me, no, Jesus calls His church a remnant, which would imply most are not invited or wanted - those that are His will hear, the rest - pearls and swine

I am not an atheist as you think I am. I am a Gnostic Christian and esoteric ecumenist.

You believe in God's word but know it is flawed. How you can tell what is flawed or not is your best guess. A hell of a way to know your God that.

You believe that God is not human but think the bible that shows an abominable God who used genocide on us and even has his son needlessly murdered is worthy of being followed without question.

So far you sound like you have not thought of your religion much. Oh well. You sound young enough to be able to smarten up.

As to the notion that your evil religion should be left alone. Only if you are an evil person.

It is my view that all literalists and fundamentals hurt all of us who are moral religionists as well as those who do not believe. They all hurt their parent religions and everyone else who has a belief or not. They make us all into laughing stocks and should rethink their position. There is a Godhead but not the God of talking animals, genocidal floods and retribution. Beliefs in fantasy, miracles and magic are evil.

Can you tell the difference between a pearl or swine?

Have a pearl.

You call me a liar, and then proclaim I am trying to trap you? Sorry, not like with me, no, Jesus calls His church a remnant, which would imply most are not invited or wanted - those that are His will hear, the rest - pearls and swine
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward

It was God's plan from the beginning to have Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit. This can be demonstrated by the fact that the bible says that Jesus "was crucified from the foundations of the Earth," that is to say, God planned to crucify Jesus as atonement for sin before he even created human beings or God damned sin.

If God had not intended humans to sin from the beginning, why did he build into the Creation this "solution" for sin? Why create a solution for a problem you do not anticipate?

God knew that the moment he said "don't eat from that tree," the die was cast. The eating was inevitable. Eve was merely following the plan.

This then begs the question.

What kind of God would plan and execute the murder of his own son when there was absolutely no need to?

Only an insane God. Thatís who.

The cornerstone of Christianity is human sacrifice, thus showing itĎs immorality.

One of Christianity's highest form of immorality is what they have done to women.
They have denied them equality and subjugated them to men.

The issue is what it does to Christian's double standard of morality. Not if the bible is B S or not.

Does not man initiate another to 'Go ahead, try me."? Or doesn't a boss see that a man is strong and loyal, to then give him an even more daunting and important task?

Do we not look in the face of an opponent and dare him to cross the line? Does it mean we are doing 'their' bidding? No, it is us trying to prove the other person wrong, weak, useless and another strong, loyal and precious.

Why is man allowed so many variables in their lives and yet when God does it we are somehow appalled or surprised? He created us, we are like Him, therefore we shouldn't be so surprised that He takes pride in us in the face of His and our enemy.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28751676

It is good to take pride in ones accomplishments.

It is evil to murder innocent people to show how much we deserve praise for it and only an evil God would do so.

Those who do not see that have had their moral sense compromised by religion.

I seem to remember that God gave Satan the freedom to either kill them or not, no? Satan killed them, not God. Every day we all face that same choice; we can either choose to go with what we are free to do or we can show restraint for the good of ourselves and others.

Satan represents the free will of all of us and he proved to the men and angels at that time, and to us, here and now, as to what his motives and lusts are for: death, murder and lies.

If God put your enemy before you and gave you the freedom to do as you wished to them, what would you do? Whatever you choose, it was still YOU who made a choice and carried it out; God in no way is culpable. God allows you the freedom to choose. Did God wish for you to kill your enemy? No, your heart dictated what your lust was and your own conscience dictated what action would come of it.

If you felt you would kill him but didn't want to, this is where God comes in; He could help you withstand your urge to kill him, but Satan would have never asked for such a thing. He represents those whose conscience dictate the actions of their hearts.

Each of us 'lust' after things in our lives, but not all act upon them. That is the difference.

Yep.
And in the Job story, God lusted after praise to increase his pride and let his lust control him.

Do I understand your first paragraph as saying that you would condemn a murderer and not the one who ordered the hit?

If so, then you too seem to have that Christian double moral standard.

Higher and more just than your God.

That is for damn sure.

One who is not a genocidal son murderer who does not demands the punishment of the innocent instead of the guilty.

This man is closer to him than you are and so am I. You won't see that as your morals are corrupted and you have a double standard.
