Re: I'm really sick of all the Catholic bigotry in Catholic posts If you want to see some examples just read the replies in this thread
As a Seventh Day Adventist evangelist, I ran into many Catholics during the course of my ministry--including some priests and nuns. Our battle is not with flesh and blood. There are MANY beautiful Catholics (even among the clergy) who love the Lord with all their hearts. The same goes with just about every other denomination out there. I've sat and broke bread with many of them and would gladly stand with them to suffer persecution that will most certainly come to ANYONE who seeks to follow Christ in the best way they know how. Growing up Catholic, I saw FIRST HAND the awful things that went on in both the Catholic schools AND within the church itself. I saw two of my own brothers molested and messed up for life (both are now dead). I went to every single Catholic church in my small community of about 25,000 and, without fail, every single priest I came into contact with was a homosexual.

My wife was a Catholic and her father dutifully took all 9 of his children to church every week (even though the "poor people" who could not give much tithe had to sit in the back of the church). After my wife got pregnant before we were married, the priest went on a tirade about how much of a "whore" she was and said absolutely nothing about my part in it. Her father never darkened the doors of that church ever again. We were married in that church even though that I knew that he was homosexual and took a special liking to me (which made my skin crawl. For my wife's sake (she was a devout Catholic who regularly attended "retreats"), I respected her wish to be married Catholic. That same priest was later ostrasized and branded by the communtiy as a "deviant".

The sad, simple fact is that deviants go where they can practice their particular brand of madness. Wherever the children are, you will find deviants. My own wife has seen these deviants even in hospital settings--going from room to room late at night and doing all sorts of unnatural things to each other while observing sick people while they were sleeping. No "organization" is exempt from them. We truly cannot judge the whole organization for what a few do. My problem with Catholicism is no different that what I have with many organizations. It's all about the truth. "To the Law and to the Testimony" is what matters here. If what they teach is NOT to the law and testimony, there is NO truth in it. What Catholics teach is mostly about TRADITION. The traditions reign supreme and there are no bones about that fact. They openly teach that tradition is even above the Word of God. That is simply not acceptable--no way, no how.

After many years of studying and talking with those who have spent a lifetime studying the Scriptures, It is very clear to us that there is only ONE acceptable sacrifice and the Bible word for it is "tawmid" which means "continual" and always in the context of Christ's supreme sacrifice on the cross. It is a "continual" sacrifice as opposed to the "daily". If you will notice the daily "sacrifice" is in italics and is a SUPPLIED word given by the translator and refers to the "Pagan daily" which was "taken away" when Paganism and Christianity were merged into what is now the Roman Catholic institution. The "abomination that maketh desolate" is rather complicated and lengthy, but it can be understood in the "open and shut door" that Jesus, Himself, open and shut. When He ascended into Heaven, he ascended to "Throne of God". Most assume that this was to the Most Holy Place of the Sanctuary in Heaven where the Ark of the Testament was located with the "Shekina Glory" resting on the Mercy Seat. In fact, Jesus ascended to the Holy Place of the Sanctuary where there is also a throne (depicted on the 'double-crowned' table of shewbread) It was in that place where "incense" was CONTINUALLY waved before the Father along with the prayers of the saints--pleading for the blood of the repentant sinner. We don't just make this stuff up. It is all in the Scriptures for all to see. At some point in time (for many it was the Methodist preacher William Miller who worked out the 1844 date as the second-coming of Christ), Jesus left the Holy Place and when He did, he closed the door (which no man can open), and went into the Most Holy to preside before the Ark and finish the work called for Him to do. It was in the Most Holy Place that the Law was located--pointing to the Law in the Ark as THE standard for the human condition. It is no small thing to go "boldly" before the Ark and present your own personal petition to the Father--pleading Jesus's blood, of course.

In the meantime, Satan, presumed to take the place of Jesus in the Holy Place and proceed to "breathe" upon those who had not followed Jesus into the Most Holy. He breathes upon these who do not follow Jesus, an unholy influence that has much Power, but does not have the grace and love and forgiveness of Christ. To those, this is truly an "abomination of desolation"--an abomination to God and leaving those who are actually worshipping Satan as "desolate". To such, there is no hope of salvation and they know not the Law of God which was so HOLY that the very Son of God had to die to satisfy its holy demands. God is Holy and His Law represents His character. The Sanctuarly, itself, is holy and even is "divine" and appears to be alive itself. EVERYTHING is alive--even the chariots of God were alive and the entire structure "vibrated" with life. The "continual" is a great mystery, just as salvation, itself, is a great mystery. We will be forever learning and never reaching the wonderful mysteries of God.

Does everyone need to see these things? Of course not, but for those who seek to delve DEEPLY into the things of God, "It is all in there." A simple childlike faith does more than all the learning in the world. There is ONLY ONE unpardonable sin--grieving away the Holy Spirit. All other sin is pardonable to the sincere person seeking truth. This is why we cannot JUDGE even the harshest of sinners. "But for the Grace of God, there go I." Until the moment that Christ is seen coming in the clouds of heaven, we are to reach out to all without exception. Easy to say, hard to do. When the disciples learned what was required of them, their response was "this is a hard saying". The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness." "Be ye perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect." He came that we may be saved FROM our sins--not IN our sins. Faith without Works is dead. Works without faith is equally dead. According to Revelation 14, we ALL will have that final chance to seek the Lord while we still can. Final warnings are given and world will take its stance for or against. "As man thinketh in his heart." THIS will be the criteria by which we are judged.
The TRUTH is stranger than FICTION.

The problem is the abuse of the Word of God, by many. These are, I call the lawless ones.

Actually, the unbloody and bloody sacrifices complement, like repentance before punishment. Both part of the Law of God.

No, I don't believe so. Scripture is replete with condemnation of sacrifice, most particularly, of blood sacrifice.
 Quoting: Shamar

You don't understand Shamar...

People continue to sin, Our Lord's one time bloody sacrifice for humanity is
represented in an unbloody manner to the Father in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Calvary is made present in our time, every hour and every day all around the world. This is the highest form of worship.

The grace of the Holy Mass should never be rejected. This is God's plan.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20541213

Shamar,

Come on dear lady, your OT preaching doesn't fit, we're
in the New Testament. There is more to understand and
accept of God's plan for humanity, Jesus came to make things new.

If the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass isn't needed, how come
it offered worldwide and for 2000 years? Catholicism is wrong as you quote her book, Holy Scripture.

So gooofy (no offense).

Torah, Torah....has been fulfilled.

A lot Protestant mixed with a little bit of Judaism amounts to one wild sect.

Catholics are the least educated on Biblical teachings. How can you worship Mary as the Mother of God? The Bible is very clear on who should be worshiped, and it is NOT Mary, or Jesus. Why do you have idols? The Bible, again, condemns them. How can you say a man ( the Pope) is infallible? The Bible clearly states that man is sinful. Why do you force pagan holidays on everyone? Catholics are a brainwashed sect.

To the Roman Catholics here a question: I was raised in the Catholic church. Today, I completely distance myself from most of its beliefs. Is there a way I can NOT be called a fallen away Catholic by you? I am not now and never will be a Catholic again. I could lose my US citizenship by going to another country and becoming a citizen of that country. I would not then be considered a "fallen away American." I would be a citizen of the other country. There would not be some simple path for me to return to being an American. How do I rid myself of ANYTHING Catholic? I am not merely "fallen away" as you say - that would imply that I would go back to the Catholic church - I will NEVER return to it...I would literally rather saw my own head off than return to the RCC. How do I go past "fallen away" to simply "not Catholic?"

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26268975

I guess what I am asking you is, who or what is a melki tzedik. If Messiah is one after the order/pattern of the one mentioned in Genesis 14:18, what does that mean, and what has it to do with what we were talking about -- sacrifice and the need for it.

The term melki tzedik means "my king is righteous." Ok, that is easy enough to go with....Our King most certainly is righteous. Now what does it mean to be a priest? If Messiah is the High Priest onto the Most High AHYH, what does that mean to us? And what does it mean if we (followers of the Most High) are all priests? The hebrew term for priest is kohen, and plurally, koheniym. The word kohen comes from a root meaning a base such as the base of a column. The koheniym are the structure support of the community. It is their responsibility to keep the community standing tall and straight, a sign of righteousness.

Messiah came to end the empty, not-wanted practice of sacrifice, and He will never let it start again.

I don't see those condemned practices as part of God's "law." Not even in the grand scheme of things. Rather, they only demonstrated and were the manifest of the removal of God's law, from their presence. God's law, or Torah, is love, and creation......not blood and destruction.

The cup of the (re)newed covenant that Messiah lifted and offered to his followers, was not wine, which represents blood... but was filled with water, which represents life.

The RCC perpetuates the bloody sacrifice(s) of blood and death through its transubstantiation process......

ugh.

quick question..who or what is your understanding of malki tzekdek?
 Quoting: Shamar

Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him ... Hebrews 7:1,Genesis 14:18

 Quoting: Shamar

Read Genesis 14, again. Melchizedek offered bread and wine to the Almighty. And gave Abraham to eat.

Like Jesus was used to do.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26268975

So, you believe God needs human food? Why would God need food?

When you look at the practice of sacrifice, some was offered to "god", while the priests and the rest of the people feasted on the rest of it. It's all about people eating, not God eating.
Love is a state of Being. Your love is not outside; it is deep within you. You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you. You can feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature. You look beyond the veil of form and separation. This is the realization of oneness. This is love. What is God? The Eternal One Life underneath all the forms of life. What is love? To feel the presence of that One Life deep within yourself and within all creatures. To be it. Therefore, all love is the love of God.

Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to die before you die - and find that there is no death.

Don't you think there is a difference between an offering, and a sacrifice?

In other words, we can have a fellowship offering of bread and invite AHYH into our presence....

But we don't need to place a piece of bread or kill an animal and place it on an altar and have someone say some mumbo jumbo over it, or burn it up, in order to call God down to sit with us.

In other words.....the "offering" being pledged to AHYH, is ourselves, our intent, our heart. Not the piece of bread. Although the bread can be representative of our body.

Dead animals? never.

the problem here with our communication is that you, like all christians, remain entrenched in the pharasaical teachings of the je_ish teachings. The je_s taught christianity its history and teachings...much of which were lies and added innuendo. christianity teaches that all these lies are the "God Breathed" words recorded as our scriptures, which the RCC captured and canonized.

I am merely trying to show what are the lies, but revealing the character of the Most High.

Christians don't want to hear it though, because they are caught up in their teachings.....even when they don't have answers to very simple questions, they simply revert back to quoting a particular passage which they *believe* to be infallible and inerrant.hf
