That reminds me.. I haven't heard any loud booms in several months. For a while there I would hear it every few weeks. The third time I heard it, I called the police asking if they had any idea what it was. They said they had officers go out each time trying to find the source but had no luck..

Hi Ark MO southeast part here and I have heard these booms before as well one night pretty recently and then some while back.....you kind of talk yourself into thinking..."ah it must be thunder or...." we really seem to like to reassure ourselves that all it "okay"!

Yep, felt and heard the same thing in Chandler, AZ ~ 3 days ago. Dishes rattled and rumbling sound. Lasted about 15-20 seconds. Scary. Yet no reports of EQ or explainations.

Exactly. Most all these booms you hear about occur at night or wee hours of the morning - not in midday. If it were natural, it would be occurring at all times. Somebody doesn't want people to know what they are up to (like the above poster said - weapons testing, fracking, bunker building...)
It isn't New Madrid or the Craton, California isn't going to fall into the sea, it's not aliens. It's a lot more mundane than that.

If this is mainly in USA maybe it has to do with a great pressure via various faults I remember there being something said about a different type of plate that runs somewhere in middle of the country and goes kind of diagonally down around Ok and on over towards New Mexico....or something along that route, plus the "future maps" were there will be alot of different land/water from gulf to out in Cali and less coastline in east as well. As far as the texas fires of poles maybe something came OVER?? Wonder if they are burning in any "pattern" I realize it said different counties.....or maybe gases?? Anyhoo like many of you I know there is some weird goings on.....maybe there is something coming towards us messing up things? Or maybe we have just hurt earth enough!

I'm in the Phoenix area also. Luke AFB fires up some kind of engine every once in awhile, usually between 8 and 11 pm, that shakes my whole neighborhood. I go to Surprise park every night without fail with my dog and have stood talking with other people amazed at whatever it would be making that loud of a sound. It's more like a rocket than a jet engine.

The park, and where I live is about 7 miles from Luke, and the whole neighborhood shakes. Nobody knows what it is, but everyone assumes it's Luke.

Sometimes I hear it once a week, sometimes once a month, but it's pretty regular. I'm by the 303 and Bell Rd. by the way.

Even in Florida where there are no faults had these sounds and shakes happen around a year ago as well.

I never post here, but really couldnt help but respond to this thread. Last year (actually in march it will be two years ago) I was in the middle east, specifically Amman, Jordan (Jordan is next door to Israel on one side, Saudi Arabia on the other). My friend and I were walking around downtown Amman one day, around 11:30 AM... and a booming, rumbling, shaking came up from the ground... crazy crazy never experienced ANYTHING like it before or after... Everyone around us that I could see had fear in their eyes and looked just as shocked as we were. But strangely no one said anything. We were a couple out walking together amongst strangers, and the culture there is different than here in the U.S.... so... I dont know. But it was so scary... I was surprised that people werent yelling out (thats how shocking it was to my friend and I... and we did yell out and scurried to find shelter).
I was born and raised in San Francisco, and still live here. I have been through all kinds of earthquakes. This was not like an earthquake that I have ever experienced. The ground didnt shift... it vibrated and rumbled. After pondering it I decided that something huge was happening under our feet deep in the ground. It was bigger, louder, and more shocking than any earthquake I ever felt. However, no buildings fell, and I didnt notice any damage.
Many here seem to be describing the same exact feeling, sensation, sounds that I experienced that day. So frustrating as an individual to experience very bizarre very real things like this... mysterious things... and yet you try to talk about it with people around you (who just went through it with you!!) and no one seems to care... or maybe they just dont want to know. We asked several people that day "hey, do you know what that was???!!" and they just sort of shrugged their shoulders, but not one person knew what it was... yet they all felt it. No curiosity. Because of the region, maybe it was oil related?? I dunno.
