No "next step". Weed is glorious. No need to use it as a stepladder to anything "better". Just enjoy it.

If your using only as a spiritual tool its not too bad. Aslong as u dont do it all the time, everything in moderation.
Eventually you will hit a plateau and you will not progress anymore with it. Doesn't mean you will have to quit, just means to further your progress you'll have to go deeper into yourself on your own.

The "no next step" bit is very important. Cannabis has long been regarded by Hindus and Buddhists as a sacrament. It should be no more than "grease on the gears". Otherwise the experiential "fluff" starts to become meaningful.

Simply observe your thoughts. Don't take part in the subjects of your mind.

Just observe.

When you get good at observing the way your mind thinks...Observe the observer. It may seem difficult to grasp that at first, but give it a try. You'll understand with time.

Ok more good tips thanks. I have started observing my thoughts but it usually ends in them shutting up. If I hold it too long I get twitchy. People have said that's the threshold of OBE.

A quiet mind is what you're looking for. That's when you observe the one who's quietly observing the mind.

When I did this type of meditation, I felt more relaxed during the day and had VIVID dreams at night. I can't imply enough how VIVID these dreams were.

Vivid dreams are what I'm going for. I've been astral projecting from the dream state in the morning but I lose the vivideness after a few minutes so I don't have enough time to explore.

NO. Please do not attempt an OBE with cannabis or cannabinoids. You will regret it. If you want a drug to dissociate you get an anti-NMDAr drug like ketamine or methoxetamine.

I warn you though with those. I have put a lot of chemicals into my body. But dissociatives alone scare me. Even Sasha and Anne Shulgin warned about dissociatives. They are dangerous. Dissociation is NOT the way to enlightenment.

I'm not dissociating with drugs. I'm dissociating naturally through the dream state.

During my super weed experience I got the strong impression that I needed to look beyond weed. I'm by no means a pothead. "enlightenment" whatever that means is my goal. I want to get back to the light and love that is the pulsating center of everything.

You are right, weed can open doors of your mind to new thoughts, but if you rely on it, it can become the biggest crutch to further progression. Be careful not to fall into the trap. Try to smoke once every 2-3 weeks or so.. I still smoke almost every day.. but i admit it mostly does no good - just keeps things normal for me. But if i go a few weeks without smoking and then smoke, i usually have profound thoughts and realizations.

Correct. Many biological lifeforms produce it. Pretty much all plants...many mammals, including humans.

Hmm. Cannabinoids are regularly noted as hindering dreaming in general.

Maybe look into psychedelics. Psychedelics put one at a state that is similar to "enlightenment". Only the mind is manifested much more fully.

Psychedelics are harmless to the body and designer ones can easily be obtained legally. They greatly enhance "true" or associative meditative states; chakras are frequently activated seemingly automatically. They also tend to enhance dreaming. And synergise beautifully with cannabis effects.

It helps me see too, but that is mainly because it lowers my intraocular pressure.

I'd like to try that. But I think these states can be obtained naturally. I know I've thought myself into a high state by seeking the moment before, complete with the pulsating time dilation sensation.

Also. Ayahuasca sounds like a great idea. Until you have to drink it and it tastes like vomit. Then you'll taste double vomit after a few minutes. Not fun. If you want DMT base it and smoke it. Cant say I've ever successfully self-administered DMT though. It is supposed to be INSANE.
