Oooo...I get to make a list!

I want some contracting company to take pity of my home's exterior, and come knocking on my door to offer a free rehab. The front porch is starting to collapse, due to dry-rot. It's an 1830's townhouse with character, which has not been sided or painted since the 1930's. The inside needs a few tweeks also, but even in this condition, it's rather amazing. It has an oval staircase up to the third floor, and, a root cellar. The back of the basement has 8' ceilings, three 6' windows and a door out to the garden area.

Then I'd want an electrician to offer to update the electricity, so all of the fixtures and lines work again. I have it all planned out on paper...I just need to win a lottery, find some buried treasure, or, find money to do it.

If I get those two things fixed, I can get my homeowner's insurance back.

Ditto...for some dental work, because that is something I have no skill to do myself.

Oh, wait...this is a list of demands. Okay.

I want a two-story porch built in the back of the house, which gets morning Sun. I imagine that sitting outside at dawn would be too magnificent for words.

Then I would transform my urban yard into a paradise; it has a sloping hillside.

While I'm at it, I have a 600 sq ft flat roof on the 1930's extenstion which would make aa perfect amazing garden space. NYC can be seen in the distance. Oh, my! What a treat THAT would be.

Oo...and, solar panels. The south facing side of the house, about 50' wide and 30' tall less windows, would be perfect to take me somewhat off the grid.

Anything else? Oh, I need a new stove, because I have no oven. I am certain that I could think of a few other gems.


Other than that, life is just about perfect. Just about. I am smiling, no matter what.
