My son just had to get his first filling. He went back into the room while I waited in the waiting room. He came out with a mercury filling! I didn't know dentists still used that stuff, my filling was white and non-mercury.

I know the FDA "approves" of the use of mercury, but I believe it is dangerous!

I don't know, I just thought it was archaic to use it nowadays. If it is really dangerous, what can I do? Can he get it refilled by another dentist???
