My son is the same way. His first laugh came in his sleep (good dreams!) when he was about a month old; he has a smile for everyone; he knows his alphabet and can count to twenty, and is learning sign language. He's learning Italian from his great-grandfather; loves to read.

Best of all, he LOVES animals and is obsessed with the moon/sun/stars. He has never met an animal that was not in love with him. My sister-in-law works for a zoo and gets us in for free. The giraffes and elephants reach for him, the monkeys turn their attention his way; its breathtaking. We have video of this, too.

Keep up the good work, OP. Y'all are doing it right!

One more thing...he is just the happiest little guy. Even if he gets hurt, he is more upset about not being happy than he is about his 'owie'.
When he was born, there was a mistake at the hospital and long story short he has a severe milk allergy. He had the worst stomach problems when I would nurse him: severe gas, diarrhea, vomiting...the whole nine years.
He would cry during a reaction, but the minute it passed he was giggles and laughs and hugs and kisses...

I miss him as a tiny baby, though I am completely in love with him as a toddler. He's two, btw.

Re: My daughter is soo aware for just turning 1
The power that unconditional love has to help one be aware of why they are here is breathtaking, isn't it OP? :)

My eldest daughter always shared much in common with me, so I suppose as a newbie daddy I felt a stronger bond to her than her sister as the little one was born and the years went on.

It didn't take many signs to see the danger favoritism could present, so about 4 years ago I began to consciously accept and love all of the intricacies of my younger daughter despite the fact they were oft ways in which the two of us did not see eye-to-eye.

We buried her spirit guide who came to me for her through an errand last winter. She's found a familiar and has chosen the symbolism of the initiate for her. She likes building her own pyramids to use for the charging of tools. Her only teacher has been her own intuition. I only am able to realize the how and why of what she does by witnessing it.

She can now read me using intent or whim - the former of which I had up to then been able to shield all others in my life from being able to do.

Take care with the thoughts you choose to have now about your daughter when she is grown, OP ;)

Don't forget to foster an appreciation for classical music ;)

All the better if the orchestra recordings you have are on vinyl, too. It scares me to think an entire generation is growing up not realizing the difference between an analog and digital reproduction, as well as having no clue why some music has stood against the tests of time for centuries.

The difference can only be felt and we need the people that can feel it to be aware of both.

I loved the mother of my daughters unconditionally even after being cheated on by her. She still left her children to live with another man for the third and final time. I still have two beautiful girls that I have full custody of that could have a more happy life if their mother wasn't such a stupid tosser.

Ever stop to think that if you quit thinking of your husband as worthless, that he'll stop being worthless? When you first married him, were you apprehensive about the ways in which you might find him out to be worthless? Why did you marry someone that didn't love you? Couldn't you have given your children happier lives by marrying someone that truly loved you?

Maybe you should give yourself some of your own advice and love your husband despite the fact that you think of him as worthless. What you say here about him proves that you don't love him unconditionally, so the best advice you can give OP about how to treat his wife is rife with hypocrisy.

They are all questions that can only be answered only in hindsight. Without knowing my story, you really can't call judgement on my post, or even call hypocrisy on telling him to love his childs mother.

My toddler dose not smile at any strangers, if ones comes upto him he looks away and say's go away haha I think he is real clever, he is 22 months he can count to ten and even 15 on a good day. He can sing the spider man song all the way to the end, he really likes the ppi adverts, he can sing twinkle twinkle and the wheels on the bus. he can hold an actual conversation with an adult and with children. He loves space, stars, and the moon which is his fav of all. He can pick the sun,the earth, the moon out in a book. I find everything amazing ;0) kids are awesome like little sponges.
