Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Well, the simple answer is that people in rural areas would be much less affected, possibly not affected to any significant degree.

The people who would be most affected would be people living in dense cities, like NY, LA, Miami, Chicago.

You are in the right place my friend.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
While the federal troops may not have any concern for you, those that rebel(the younger generation has been raised for precisely this - it's no coincidence the mainstream music[and consequently the ideals forced into the youth] is all about killing cops/violence/etc) will form into territorial gangs that will constantly wage war with eachother in addition to the cops.

The only people that can get past being controlled by either are close knit rural communities.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Any use of state force will be against threats to the state. Who the threats are depends upon the scenario driving the action. You may actually support the government in using force on other Americans. Here are some guesses at scenarios and those who would be threats:

(1) Severe economic disruption or collapse across the country: all people who lose their means of livlihood, who are subject to eviction from their homes or rental property, or who lose access to supplies of food and water and step up and out of line.

(2) National disease outbreak: those citizens who fail to follow mandated quarantines and other health mandates.

(3) Localized catastrophic events (real or staged "terrorist" attacks, sustained natural disasters, disease outbreaks, etc.): those citizens who're disposessed of their homes and means of livlihood and who step up and out of line. Note that in the case of deadly, contagious disease outbreak, quarantined cities/areas could be subject to total annihilation if they pose a threat to the rest of society.

(4)Willful use of power against the people for political control: whoever is perceived as a threat by those using the power.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Lots of 'whoopass' yee haw! Seriously, there would have to be some disruptions with food in the big cities due to martial law leading to raiding rural areas? Perhaps martial law will finally be the last straw for the mutton headed mob (citizens) in the USA. Then again, Bush is still considered a President, and 911 is still believed as portrayed so maybe the late great USA will meekly morph into a passive gulag...

The States are sovereign and will refuse the
Feds.
They will ban together. There will be civil war. Many who count themselves Feds will be on our side. That is why they want to use foreign troops like the Chinese.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Well the point is that if martial law were ever imposed (the circumstances would have to be serious to warrant that), the people who would be least affected would be the ones that were the most self sufficient and in the most remote places....faded into the woodwork so to speak. That would include all small rural communities, farmers, etc. they can watch it all go down on CNN as they live their lives in a fairly normal fashion.

The people who would have the most difficulty would be people trying to get on with their lives amid the chaos of armed military police and anarchy in a big city.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
As long as one is stocked up and ready, martial law would probably mean a minor inconveniance. But with the lack of supplies, one would be in trouble.

This is true as long as the cities were contained.

once they are not, the rurals will not be safe for long.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Rural areas IMHO would be restricted travel to and from the local Walmart Distribution Center...the only retailers to remain open to the public...tracking of food/supplies, face recognition, and RFID will be implimented...

...wholesalers by license only can sell goods to service personnel...but everyone in this loop has to have the new national id card...

...basically, grow your own food and never go to town for gas...you will NOT be affected...all others will...

...I suggest a sniper position overlooking the road blocks and check points...taking them out one at a time!

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
i live in a small community, surrounded by a lot of farms, and if i drive an hour north, it is practically wilderness

i think,, knowing my community, people will ban together and make sure everyone is ok, civilians will also work with the police, in an armed capacity

my biggest fear is people getting out of the big cities enmass, with no food and scared shit less, and desperate,, especially the younger gangs,, that is where the fighting will be ,, imho

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Well, I agree that if martial law persisted for any amount of time, there would be a mass exodus out of the cities and even suburbs to more rural areas, but the ones who would be leaving would be the ones that could afford it...mostly law abiding citizens looking to improve their situation (like me). So I don't agree that the people in the Rural areas would have a lot to worry about. I think people in small communities would sort of band together and form a very effective sort of local "safe zone" via their local law enforcement.

That would leave the cities in even worse shape however....look to what happened in New Orleans as sort of a preview of what martial law and anarchy in a city looks like. I'm not saying it will necessarily be to that degree, but that's what it will look like....it brings out the worst in people.

farms, hospitals, schools, grocery stores, all communications centers, control of the local police, power plants, the right to confiscate weapons,, and shoot to kill authority

but,, that won't work too well,,, i am quite sure,, they would have their hands full

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
yes, exactly. a town where everyone knows everyone, including the local politicians and the members of the fire department, police department, etc...are going to do just fine. They will collectively stand up to whatever they need to stand up to while looking out for each other.....and the government, no matter how bad it could get, isn't going to mess with them. In fact, communities like that will probably be held up as examples to the rest of the country by the government and corporate media in a time of crisis. For the first time in my life, I'm wishing I lived in a place like that myself. If you do, consider yourself lucky. Buy some food, keep plenty of fuel on hand, get some solar power...pop open a beer and watch the world disentegrate around you if it comes to that.

Even in the big cities they would have massive probs...only to increase the farther they go out into the country...they might "have" plans in place...Implementing them would be something totally different.there is more of "us" than them...pandemonium would reign.

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
Yes "they" can take control of it all. But, energies and manpower will be focussed on the larger urban areas. I live in a county with 12 sworn deputies that cover 500 squre miles. I don't imagine they will wander too far from the county seat. No lawman in his right mind would. Folks are kinda tight out here in the boondocks so if you are planning on escaping the city bring a good supply of white hankies with you and a bigger supply of gold coins. This will ensure your survial for a short time. Plenty o powder and lead in these hills so don't be thinkin that you can walk right in and set up camp. Folks out here been preparing for this since the Great Depression. Real estate out here is not bought and sold "cuz it's purdy", but based on one's ability to defend it. A country boy will survive!

Re: QUESTION;::: WHAT WOULD MARTIAL LAW BE LIKE FOR THE RURAL AREA
The first thing you need to recognize is that the Feds do not have anywhere enough boots on the ground to implement effective martial law nationwide.

They can declare anything they want. Enforcing it is another matter.

Local police will be placed under the authority of some military officer. They'll just LOVE that.

Your legal rights will go out the window. They can probably shoot first and not bother asking questions. No habeas corpus. Maybe no civilian courts. None of which matters if you don't get busted in the first place.

I am sure they would make examples of a few communities, but would not have enough people to do very much of that.

They would use their manpower where it would do the most good : densely populated areas. Controlling transportation (highways, railways, airports, ports), utilities (power/gas/water), food distribution, banking and finance.

Farmers will likely have very little say in how their crops are sold/distributed. They would probably not have the manpower to spare on gardeners.

Resistance would be hammered down. Compliance would be basically ignored. Very petty people in low positions of authority would make life hell for everyone they could, and you would have no legal recourse.

You know, the way most of the world has been for most of history (and probably pre-history).
Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Hey! I'm a Zen Master! And I thought I was just lazy.

You guys are living in dreamland. But don't let me stop you - just keep thinking your john deere and your 30 ought 6 will keep you safe.

Do you even think for a minute that these 'tight knit' communities would stay that way when supplies are cut off, communications restricted, and your whole world you know and understand is crashing down around your ears?

Don't fool yourself.

Get ready for the camps.

AC 32294

You're missing something quite big.

SELF SUFFICIENT close knit communities still exist these days.

As in, they don't need the supplies and communications.

Albeit, not many exist, but there are some, and many are "half and half", and the second that the shit hits the fan, they're obviously going to move in the direction of full sufficiency.

Self sufficient peoples/communities are not going to be just as bad off as the rest of us(doesn't take an idiot to figure that out...)

Keep your pessimism to yourself, we have enough already.
