Birds Missing - Southern Ontario

I live near Toronto and I've noticed in the past 2 weeks a lot of birds are missing.

And yes, before you get snarky, I do realize it is winter. But I have lived in the same house for the past 30 years and every winter there are still some birds who stay all through the winter (blue jays, crows)

We always fill up the bird feeder in the backyard and it usually empties in a day. My cat loves to sit in the window and watch the birds. Now there are only several small brown birds but the seeds just sit there and my cat is bored.

It has never been like this. There are always larger, black birds. All through the winter. Now, they're gone.

Anyone else notice this???
