For the most part, I couldn't care less about Private Sector Unions, but when it comes to Public Sector ones they are crooks of the highest degree. The Union leadership in conjunction with elected politicians is a recipe for disaster, look at Detroit, that city is DEAD the people just don't know it yet and the only thing that will keep it alive is Obama money because the private sector knows that it's not worth the investment or the risk, unless you’re a Casino of course.

It's not even a matter of education, although I can tell you the education system obviously encourages this mindset, but it's more of an attitude brought on by generation after generation of welfare, and entitlement.. Because they would lose entitlement over who can work and who cannot, The union prevents people from competing for THEIR jobs, while trying to control employment of everyone else, in addition to making everyone pay more for unionized products.

I used to work for a company that voted the Teamsters out. Once we realized that we could negotiate our own contract we saw no need for the Teamsters and got rid of them. And kept those $500 in dues in our pockets not theirs. And no one got fired once they were gone.....

I would have no problem with this as long as they signed a contract stating that they RENOUNCE all Union CONTRACTUAL TERMS and agree the UNION does not represent them. Thus the employer could pay them less/they embrace at will employment at its fullest etc. but that is not what these people want from my experience.

That's great but you were still a part of a collective workforce using that collective power to achieve your goals. The word Union does not have to have national implications.
