What's more, they should be allowed in the Western countries and male versions should be allowed, too. What if I want to preserve my anonymity from curious eyes? What if I hate CCTV which is a breach of privacy? What if I don't want my girlfriend to see me when going out with another girl? And what if I want to keep my identity secret from tattlers? |

What if a person wants to hide from the CCTV oppression and slavery? Should we just put up with being filmed while walking down the street and in supermarkets? Shoplifting and crimes haven't diminished at all since the introduction of CCTV. A lot of Western women would actually make good use of face veil to their advantage if they had the chance, e.g. when going out with other men, when wanting to hide black spots/acne/etc, when going somewhere where their family shouldn't be able to recognize them. Every person has their little secrets, you know... I agree that the forceful wearing should stop though! Everything should be voluntary. |

| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 29206820 12/06/2012 01:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are far more reasons why a person would like to hide their face from onlookers: - acne/spots, facial injuries etc. - hatred of being surveyed by CCTV, Big Brother, etc. - the right to anonymity - hiding from exes, ex friends, enemies, neighbors you don't like to talk to |

The state you live in and its laws provide you this special freedom. Without laws it wouldn't exist... |

Quoting: Anonymous CowardThe state I live in should pay me that I'm still living in the sh*thole it is. CCTV and surveillance is highly oppressive. I don't want to have photos/videos of me taken, isn't that alright with the world of today? It's funny how shop owners scream when you start taking pictures of their goods and inventory with your mobile phone, while they are OK with their CCTV filming you. |
| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 29206820 12/06/2012 01:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, if I have no right of anonymity and there's CCTV in virtually every store nowadays, why do they ban taking photos of their goods/products? If I have no right of anonymity, why is taking photos banned in their stores/banks/schools/etc? It's not like they're some top secret army bases, right? They're public. |
