Very true with Caffeine, as I took a Criminal Justice Class @ C.W. Post, called Drugs, and Medicines!. And had a book, showing all effects of Caffeine on Spiders and their Nervous System and their Web building. Gave Spiders 4 drugs, Caffeine, LSD-25, Marijuana, and Speed. What Web looked most messed up, well that was Caffeine, it didn't look like a Spider Web!.

#1 The Marijuana induced Spider Web looked very lazy and open compared to normal Spider Web.

#2 The Speed induced Spider Web looked very concentrated and tight!.

#3 The LSD-25 induced Spider Web looked off Center, but nonetheless a Spider Web.

#4 The Caffeine induced Spider Web, looked most crooked and off and distorted and didn't look like a spider Web @ all-really totally messed up than the other 3.

And to add to this. I have been smoking pot illegally for over 5 years because the meds they were giving me did NOTHING! With Pot I can go out places without having to worry all the time.

The peace corps isn't a Christian orginization. Part of being involved with a Christian orginization is spreading the word of God. The peace corps is run by the US GOV.

Heroine and cocaine are refined. So, if you look at it that way, a lot of 'modern medicine' drugs come from plants. Ever heard of statins? Yeah, they're bad and based on bullshit science. Source of statins? Red Rice Yeast. Rice is a plant. This is but one example, but since you're not going to read this objectively anyway I'm not sure why I'm bothering.

There's a difference between it being legalized for medical uses only and being full blown legal. This thread is advocating for the 100% legalization of weed which is not right. Alcohol is already legal, doesn't that already do enough damage?

I wonder, since you are soo against it, what are your reasons? Do you have any real reasons besides stereotypes?

Do you have any scientific evidence it does bodily harm? That it is highly addictive? What is your reason?

i never said peace corps was christian. I said "to do community service" and "to help humanity" which is way more godly than going on a christian retreat (vacation) but if you want to compare apples to oranges my same pothead friend goes christmas caroling with his church to various needy places. he also attends church every sunday. Probly parts of the reasons he is just a friend and nothing more is his belief system is ironically more in line with yours. What i find hard to believe is how his god can gift a plant to the world and gift humans (note: not spiders, dogs, cats, other pets, etc) cannibinoid receptors and we make these laws it is illegal to smoke or utilize this plant and some of you christian folk (and since my friend isnt falling in the mix, obviously this isnt all christian folk) just fall for it hook line and sinker. I know i did for the longest time. Idk what it is about religion but religious people tend to be much more likely to hate on a plant in spite of evidence that it was made just for us humans.

I used to be a pot head myself. My divorced smoked a lot and left it where an 11 year old me could get a hold of it and get high. I would sell it at school. Me and my buddies were not getting high enough so we started doing cocaine. Well cocaine and alcohol isn't a very good combination for someone in the 10th grade. What they say about weed being a gateway drug is true but that's not my main reason.

The main reason it should not be legal is because it sends a bad message to our youth. What if my mom never smoked and what if I had never touched it? What if instead she had bibles laying around the house? I've had it rough but I wouldn't take any of it back. I had to go through it to find Jesus and I'm finally ok now.

I smoke, but I have never done any other drug in my life. So the gateway drug crap is only true if the person WANTS to do other drugs.

Don't tell ME I can't do it just because YOU couldn't handle it.

to the guy that pot was a gateway drug as a kid: Sucks that as a kid you got your hand in the cookie jar too early, but everyone should have the same restrictions because of your own weaknesses? just because weed will be made legal in more places does not mean it will be legal for kids. And further, it was illegal at the time of what happened to you and that did not alter the course of events to benefit you (you still came in contact with cocaine).

I typically agree with you, Brief, but you just grabbed an awfully wide brush. I'm a white male, mechanical engineer, business owner, vote right and enjoy toking a bit now and then. Your ignorance is showing; you might want to tuck that in.
