My ex owes me $62,000 about now in child support for two kids, and that built up over a 12 year period. Nothing happens to him, they just keep him from getting a license, and he doesn't care becuz he doesn't have a car. He throws a few bucks their way to keep them off his tail, but to this day refuses to get a regular job and make regular payments. Drives me crazy and has left my boys in a bad situation most of their lives, they don't get a lot of things their friends do, but I am really resourceful and do my best to make up for it. $100,000 - he should be in jail already, but then I guess that would take away any ability for him to pay anything. It's a catch-22 situation. Why do these people not get birth control?

Look, if poor women stopped having welfare babies wages would rise. Poor workers would demand higher wages to offset the welfare loss. Else they would leave the cities and follow the better jobs. They couldn't afford to make sandwiches for lawyers for six dollars an hour. Then in sixteen years when all those welfare babies would be growing up--labor shortage! Now who makes sandwiches for lawyers? Where are the poor people? How much do we have to pay a middle class kid to make sandwiches? OMG! Its socialism! The deli kid gets paid same as a legal assistant.
If poor women went on a baby-making strike, business would have a conniption. It would panic. You would see churches preaching against contraception, more hysteria about Muslim takeover, health reports about the dangers of contraception, big campaigns to raise the social status of mothers and demonise childfree women. I think we would see violence against women and workplace discrimination and harassment--meant to drive poor women back to welfare motherhood.
Poor women refusing to make poor babies would be treated like terrorists. They would be threatening the profits of big business. It would not be allowed.
We need those welfare people on the streets ready to take the job of any low wage worker who gets too smart or assertive.
