Antivirus pioneer John McAfee has been rushed from his detention cell to a hospital in Guatemala....

Guman earlier noted that McAfee earlier saw a doctor and complained of chest pains. ....

McAfee was arrested in Guatemala City late Wednesday after fleeing Belize, where he is sought for questioning in the murder investigation of his neighbor.

If any one knows who Craig Venter is then this will strike you very interesting. A lot of research on this person has been done in the past on GTTO. Its worth checking out what was found.

He has not been tied directly to Venter yet. They were just both supposedly working on similar research - "quorum sensing". That puts him in a pretty small pond, with some pretty big fish. Lots of govt backing, big players, etc.

Did he get too close to something in his research? Was he forced to back off? There is a link over there to his website on "quorum sensing". It's down - but you can access via wayback. He was tweeting Venter's research as well on his website. He had to be aware of his work - as it was his research area as well.

Yeah - there is the "bath salt" story... but doesn't that sound like an easy label to stick on someone you want to discredit? I'm not saying McAfee isn't a loon - but he may have rubbed shoulders with some other interesting loons as well.
