Even though those trainers manage to make dogs drive adapted cars, what's gonna happen when they see a cat crossing the street?? Are they gonna jump from the car's window and run after the cat or run over it with the car??

Why make things more difficult than they have to be.

Give the dogs an auto, rather than a stick!

Cool! I'd like to teach my dog to drive. I've got an automatic transmission, how difficult could it be?

I really doubt someone can teach a dog how to shift gears, even if it's an automatic transmission. Plus dogs can easily get distracted by anything, smell of food, other animals, horny bitches, snacks, everything can make a "dog-driver" crash the car, if there's no actual human to take back the cars control.
