Re: How can I go beyond "fallen away Catholic" to "not Catholic"?
figure out a way to get ex-comunicated
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9170468

Would the present Roman Catholics then call me "not Catholic?" I mean I fit most of their criterion for ex-commication:

1.) I do not believe in transubstantiation.
2.) I do not believe Mary was sinless.
3.) I do not believe in forgiveness of sins by a priest.
4.) I do not believe in such a thing as "mortal" sin as I do not believe I can loose my salvation.
5.) I reject the idea of Christians still trying to follow the 10 commandments.
6.) I do not believe in praying to saints.
7.) I do not believe in the existence of a place called purgatory.
8.) I do not believe in prayer for the dead.
9.) I reject the papacy and the concept that the pope is some how the replacement for Christ on earth.
10.) I reject the concept of indulgences.

I could continue, but, clearly I am NOT a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Please note: I am not asking for rebuttals or theological arguments on Roman Catholic Doctrine...simply put, I am not going back to the Roman Catholic Church. I am asking Catholics here: How do I get you to stop calling me a "fallen away Catholic" with the implication that I will someday go back. I will not ever again be a member of the Roman Catholic Church. I want to be called "not Catholic" - how do I get that moniker?

Just follow Jesus, that's all he asked.
The world will lie anyway, so don't worry what it says

Re: How can I go beyond "fallen away Catholic" to "not Catholic"?
I see OP gets easily persuaded to accept the protestant argument. You haven't been Catholic for a long time? That tells me you really don't understand the full and historical understanding of how Catholism came about. It's ok, take the quick " your saved through Sola Scriptura" doctrine preached by Protestants. Oh, then that doctrine condems to hell anyone who has never read the bible....think of all the illiterate people in past history who couldn't read or even have access to a bible, most of Europe, Africa, Asia, etc...

I guess you will believe Benny Hinn no matter what. Don't worry, the easy and quick acceptance to believe will get you a long detention if you know what I mean!

A typical stupid Roman Catholic. You haven't got the brains to answer the question that is posed...even when it is the subject of the thread...but, you can opine about salvation! Get a clue! Answer the question!

Re: How can I go beyond "fallen away Catholic" to "not Catholic"?
I was raised a Catholic and around 13 years of age realised it was not for me.

I could already see then that there was no place in that religion for young career women - the archetypes they value are either virgins or Mothers - neither of which were me then or now! Lol!

You decide in your heart what you believe and stay true to yourself. You do not need a papal dispensation or any other piece of paper to get on and believe what you want to.

To all those who say "once a Catholic always a Catholic" just tell them what you are.

I am a spiritualist so that is what I calmly and quietly mention if ever asked.

Ultimately it is between you and your God and is no-one else's business!

Re: How can I go beyond "fallen away Catholic" to "not Catholic"?
After a 70 year captivity, the religious leaders of Israel became Babylonian in their teachings and in their minds. [Ezekiel-blasphemy in the temple..the glory departed] When Christ came carnal Israelites were "the lost sheep of Israel."

"It was necessary that God's Word should first have been spoken to thee, but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles."

Later, to undo the good work of Paul in Rome, a counterfeit Christianity is created. By secretly creating and controlled it, the enemy of Christ could besmirch the name of Jesus throughout the centuries while placing the blame on "Christians" (ie crusades, inquisitions persecutions and witchhunts)

Babylon is the actual "mother of Harlots"..it's Cabala the source of it's religious evil. When Hislop exposed Catholicism as Babylonian, he didn't know that post-captivity Judaism is, in fact, the old religion of Babylon with a few twists.

So the created opposition is used to torture true Christians as it sends other people's children on crusades to kill Muslims. In the 1800's bring in a rapture myth based fully of "Jews" being the chosen people..who repent after the "protestants" float off..and you have Babylonic control over Protestants.

The only "Simon Peter" in ancient Rome was Simon the sorcerer..father of gnosticism and chief sorcerer to Nero. He was known in Rome as Father Simon or in Latin, Simon "Pater".

"and the vessel was marred in His hand, so He remade it"
Christ remade Israel into a spiritual nation of born again believers. No substitution. No church with a capital C.
All Israel shall be saved...IT IS FINISHED..

Didn't you know?
The covenant of Moses had been declared by all almost all the OT prophets to be anulled. The Abrahamic covenant would stand however (for God made it with Himself-Abraham was asleep.) David appealed to the Abrahamic covenant after he knew, by Levitical law, he was a dead man for killing Uriah. This covenant then reaches from Abraham to King David to Jesus Christ..and right to the born again believers..That spiritual nation which is the real Israel.

When someone asks what religion you belong to say atheist/agnostic/other religion or anything but Catholic. Pretty simple.

See the light (literally and figuratively) and become a confirmed Lutheran.

No allegiance to the Pope.

Only two Sacraments: Baptism and Communion.

Consubstantiation, not Transubstantiation.

You are saved from sin and death by Faith Alone. Not your good deeds, not by contributing money to the Church, but by your own, personal belief in the triune God.

No intercessory prayers to Mary or to any Saints.

Every believer is considered a Saint (and a sinner, at the same time.)

Mary was a sinner and a saint. (To be born without original sin, would mean she was more than a human- a terrible sin to deify her, the Catholic Church has done.)

Pastors in the Lutheran Church may marry, and have children.

Women may be ordained as Pastors.

And, quite recently, openly homosexual individuals may be ordained as Pastors.

In fact, the most Lutheran of Lutheran theologies is the famous quote by Martin Luther (himself, a Catholic monk at one point in his life), "What is this?" or "What does this mean to *me*?"

You are not only allowed to, you are expected to question your faith and your calling and your belief.
Currently working on:
Bach: Invention No. 1
Joplin: Maple Leaf Rag
Mendelssohn: Tarantella Op.102 no.3
Mendelssohn: Venetian Boat Song Op. 19 no. 6 (both from 'Songs Without Words')

I can share about two statements above....

Lutheran communion is bread and wine. Lutherans do not have
a valid priesthood, they cannot confect the Eucharist. Sonic Dreamer, you realize too, repeating the word "pastor" in your list.

Martin Luther believed Mary was sinless, the anti-Marian beliefs of others came later.

Today, December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Yes, it is God's plan, Mary was preserved from sin her entire life, she was conceived without Original Sin. She would carry God inside her!

God makes exceptions (Protestants accept some of them), what a beautiful exception. St. Jerome in 383 A.D. translated the original writings so we know the first words of the Archangel Gabriel. His greeting from the Father was ~ "Hail full of Grace." Grace is God's presence in
your soul.

Luke 1:28 [link to www.drbo.org]

I believe the KJV changed the original words. Mary would
remember what was said to her, she would share it with the Apostles. The oral teaching passed down is called Tradition.

After the Great Warning, everyone will understand. Please recall and ask questions now if you like, sincere questions about the faith.

God bless you, hf

You even mentioning Jesus is an insult to Jesus. There is no difference between you and a parrot. You cannot answer even the simplest of questions...but, you still continue to speak. You speak without knowledge of Jesus. Your words are always the same "become Catholic." You turn people away from being Catholic, because you lack the knowledge to answer even the simplest of question.

Don't you understand what you are doing? You are turning people away from Jesus! You parrot words...but, they have no meaning to you. You do not understand the words you parrot. If you understood the words you parrot, then you could answer such a simple question as "can a former Catholic be called 'not Catholic' and not a 'fallen away Catholic'.

I have a present for you...here is some reading for you...see if you can answer the question posed in this thread...
Thread: The Roman Catholic Church's doctrine of transubstantiation is satanic.

You will love that thread...not a single Catholic could name what time the so called "Eucharist" comes from. Can you answer that question...or will you be a parrot again?

It does not matter what 'they' think. You are no longer subscribing to RCC, period, you have moved away.

We cannot dictate what others who continue to subscribe to a particular doctrine think regarding our actions. It simply should have no p0wer over you.

Move on and do not worry about it.

Those are words and Jesus imparts no power in them.

Blessings in the hope that you have also not written off Christ.
