Well, actually thats not quite right. From our perspective here on Earth it will apear that the Earth, Sun, and tha galactic center are ligning up. When in actuallity it only looks that way. Our solar system actually passed through the Galactic plain over six thousand years ago, and we have been traveling away form it ever since.

From our perspective The Earth and Sun will line up in a way that looks like you can draw a line through The Earth and Sun, that will point at the Galactic center. Ok?

The planets lined up on the 3rd of December.
21st is an arbitrary date that has meaning for some.

beyond that fact that alignments like this happen all the time, the force that the galactic center exerts on Earth is ~0.00006x that of the Moon on Earth and ~0.00000037x that of the Sun, doesn’t it seem a little ridiculous to claim that the galactic center can change anything on Earth if the Sun and the Moon cause little-to-no effect on geologic events?
