never seen people do "LA" but Lost Angelas is something new to consider.

I live in LA which is Louisiana.

L.A. is Los Angeles.

But hey nobody uses proper grammar or spelling these days.

I hate it because I click on threads that say LA because I think it is about the state.

There is a popular bumper sticker here that says "This is LA not L.A." We don't take kindly to Californians moving here and trying to make it L.A.

There have been many threads the past couple months about Louisiana. LA is the postal code for that state.

I was confused at first as well. It's that sink hole and explosion....and gulf of Mexico (often written GOM) problems.

NO is New Orleans and it comes up in those threads as well.

Here's another one that needs to be cleared up:

Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA.
Washington is a state on the U.S. west coast.
Washington State is a university.

There is no state in the USA called Washington State.

Hey, a lot of people thing New York, and New york City are the same thing.

And then there is West New York. Which is in New Jersey.

Los Angeles is LA, Louisiana is La. Really though, I don't abbreviate Louisiana, I like the way it sounds. :)

Ive come across that to OP. Can be confusing. Always have to ask :)
