"Turn off your radio" Yep, it's Hip Hop, it's a penny for your thoughts, a nickel for your desires, and a bunch of vocab that'll set your world on fire. A bunch of angry suburban white kids with 1st world problems preaching to 3rd world people Last Edited by Smashy76 on 12/07/2012 05:05 AM I'm not racist, I hate everyone equally. All of these vocalists are surfacing the truth and practicing their first amendment rights, possibly in an unconventional manner that tradition seems to disregard. Listen to this one, no drum beat.... |

The lyric I laid down is actually from K'os, before he came "Crab Bucket" He used to be an actual lyrical assassin..... BTW, I grew up with Too Short, Tribe and used to hang around with the Dream Warriors....... Hip Hop has lost it's way... I'm not racist, I hate everyone equally. It sounds to me you've given up due to hip hops evolving state. Yeah, I grew up listenin to too short too. But honestly, put his "get in where you fit in" album on now. It's shit. Yeah it has its "bringing me back" feel to it but there's nothing lyrically tangible to my mind. It's ignorant and degrading, to me at least. Hip hop has takin a course of progress, intellectually. Now, of course the mainstream pollute the airwaves with crap, obviously not popularizing the more creative and artistic independent artists. But we all know who controls the media, right? Anyway, good hip hop is still out there and being created, just a little harder to come by, just like the search for truth on this website. Weed em out! |

I gave up on hip hop due to people like Lil Wayne and shit like that, cause as you know " NO LIL WAYNE, A FIRE SIREN IS NOT A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT" I've lost faith in the music and it's artists. Have you heard of "Swollen Members" check them out. But I gota say MAD CHILD is a newer hip hop artist and his stuff is bad ass. And I always head back to my roots and listen Fu-Schinkens, Pharcyde, EPMD, and some old school. Even Redman when he dropped his first solo album... If you're into some "home grown" hip hop, check out "MUVA" it's an underground Hip Hop production company. Lots of basement turntables, sampling, freestyle and the like. They're about the music. Oh yeah, from battleaxe records, they "were" good. Kinda got over they're style. I think they try too hard to be underground. I like Aesop Rock/Deltron style of listening. They seem to be honestly expressing themselves, whether people comprehend em or not, they don't care, they just make music. Did you ever listen to the song in the OP? I'm gonna check out "MUVA" haven't heard any of it before. I got A tribe called quest jammin right now, lol, lovin it. Check some of the tracks I posted on pg 1, I'm sure you'll appreciate most of em. At least that ill bill "society is brainwashed" track, it's GLP Material! |
